The Technical Accounting & Financial Reporting Manager is part of Aimbridge's Technical Accounting group that is part of the overall Corporate Accounting group. Management-level associates are expected to work as much of each workday as is necessary to complete their job responsibilities; for OEM associates overtime does apply and is calculated accordingly.
QUALIFICATIONS: - Bachelor's degree in Accounting with at least 5 years of hands-on accounting experience is required.
- Hospitality and/or Real Estate accounting experience is preferred.
- Public accounting experience is preferred.
- Prior SEC experience is desired.
- CPA certification is required.
- Proficient with general ledger systems, MS Excel and other analytical tools.
- Highly motivated individual that works well in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong managerial and organizational skills.
- Strong critical thinking/analytical ability and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate technical accounting issues with senior leaders and external auditors both verbally and in writing.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: - Determine the impact of new and proposed accounting standards issued by the SEC and FASB and assist in education efforts within the Company
- Provide technical accounting expertise and application of GAAP related to transactions involving acquisitions, hedge accounting, leasing, revenue recognition, stock-based compensation, goodwill, intangible assets, and joint ventures
- Manage the Aimbridge annual external audit of the books and records of the company. Respond to Auditor inquiries completely, accurately and timely.
- Review of contracts and agreements, advising on technical accounting issues and drafting company accounting positions
- Coordination with valuation specialists as needed related to goodwill, intangible assets, stock-based compensation, and purchase price accounting for acquisitions
- Further develop internal controls over financial reporting and accounting processes
- Ensure Company financial records are maintained in compliance with Company policies and US GAAP.
- Serve as a resource for Corporate Accounting peers in technical accounting to consult as needed.
- Proactively identify and implement process improvements to increase accuracy and efficiency.
