Job Description
You will be responsible for designing flexible, scalable data models for a hybrid cloud environment such as Azure and Teradata that supports data ingestion/integration, data privacy, data quality and data governance for our clients in the beverage industry.
Responsibilities:
Understand enterprise data strategy, landscape and challenges across on-prem and Azure cloud.
Collaborate with stakeholders, including business analysts, data architects, and developers, to gather requirements and understand the organization's data needs.
Design, develop, and maintain logical and physical data models using Erwin based on business requirements and industry best practices.
Ensure the integrity, reliability, and performance of data models by conducting thorough testing and validation.
Optimize and fine-tune data models to enhance data retrieval and processing efficiency.
Provide guidance and support to development teams in implementing data models within various applications and databases.
Collaborate with database administrators to ensure the proper implementation and maintenance of data models across the organization's data infrastructure.
Conduct data modeling reviews and participate in data governance activities to ensure data quality and consistency.
Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in data modeling techniques, tools, and technologies, and recommend improvements to existing processes.
Skills Required:
8-10 years of hands-on experience with conceptual, logical and physical dimensional data modeling.
Solid understanding of relational database concepts, data warehousing, and dimensional modeling (star schema, snowflake schema).
Experience in translating business requirements into effective data models.
Proficiency in SQL and database query optimization techniques.
Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex data-related issues.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
General understanding of cloud file formats such as Parquet, JSON, AVRO, ORC
General understanding of compute environments such as Databricks or integration architectures and tools such as Informatica, ADF.
General understanding of data model evolution, versioning
General understanding of reference and master data management, data quality management, systems integration, and data cataloging.
Define standards & best practices for modeling and naming conventions.
Deliver well defined data dictionary and business glossary for data models.
