Job Description:

Responsibilities and Authority:
  • Manage performance and develop talent across all three production shifts
    • Develop plans to skill up and cover knowledge gaps across shifts
    • Ensure that policies and procedures are adhered to and administer progressive disciplinary action when required
    • Write and administer performance reviews and set annual goals for hourly production team
    • Coaching and team building
  • Responsibility for Quality on the assigned shift.
    • Interact with Cell Members to diagnose and repair issues.
    • Work with QA to write intelligent corrective actions/response plans.
    • Follow QA documentation, Control Plan, Print, Visual Aids, Alerts, In-Process Inspections, & DR's.
    • Important role in the LPA (Layered Process Audit) process
  • Act as the technical authority in the Des Plaines injection molding manufacturing operation
    • Understand and correct processing issues. There are many of these on the floor currently that are impacting our profitability and quality.
    • Understand machine capabilities and run calculations to understand which components and tools can run on different presses
    • Understand different types of resigns and the processing considerations associated with each
  • Manage operational execution and continuity
    • Set production schedule, maintain press matrix
    • Translate production priorities into an efficient and effective production schedule including startups and tool changes that is distributed and communicated
    • Understand and react to staffing issues on the shift. Call-ins, vacations, mandated OT
    • Communicate effectively across shifts
  • Good verbal skills are required. This is needed so that coherent information can be passed between the shifts.
  • Ability to understand and follow ITW core philosophies
  • Understand the MRP provided and how it relates to the production scheduling.
  • Needs to be Proactive not Reactive with issues as they are presented

Required
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Five or more years of experience in the Injection Molding Industry.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • High level of competence in scientific molding
  • High level of competence in Yushin Robot programing
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft sweet including Excel

Preferred
  • Experience with ISO9001 requirements.
  • Certification in Scientific molding
  • Certifications in Yushin Robot programing


Compensation Information:

75,000-95,000
