Job Description

Reporting to the Manager, Applications Support & Development, the Team Leader is responsible for planning, organizing and providing day-to-day direction to designated staff assigned clinical applications support and development.

Provides knowledge and leadership to advise IM/IT staff and project teams on the operational clinical documentation components of the Cerner PowerChart and related applications. Supports VIHA's strategic objectives by championing the implementation and adoption of the electronic health record.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education, Training And Experience

A level of education, training and experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree in one of Health Information Sciences, Nursing and/or Computer Science with five (5) years' experience with application support, design, build and testing within a healthcare environment.

  • Ability to supervise staff
  • Demonstrated ability to keep up with new technologies as they are introduced to the workplace
  • Demonstrated ability to respond to the needs of stakeholders
  • Understanding of clinical issues related to the integration of computer technology into the care process
  • Understanding of currently privacy practices
  • Interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent presentation, interviewing, facilitating and negotiating skills
  • Experience in planning, directing and controlling projects
  • Ability to handle sensitive corporate and personnel information
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Working knowledge of systems analysis and design techniques
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently or as part of a team

  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the job

Additional information for applicants

The salary range for this position is $90,770 (min) to $113,462 (midpoint) to $130,481 (max) per annum (based on 1 FTE). Salary placement is between min and midpoint, based on experience, qualifications, and internal equity. Please note, this position may be eligible for a flexible schedule.
