Job Responsibilities:

JOB FUNCTIONS (ESSENTIAL)
• Acts as primary management interface and escalation for all product system related issues.
• Provides technical leadership in directing the efforts of the team in the development and production release of all relevant
engineering deliverables in compliance with the product development process and customer expectations.
• Works with managers and other team leads to improve development processes.
• Works with managers and other team leads to define the discipline specific target key performance indicators (KPIs)
• Ensures engineering targets (quality, delivery timing, performance, etc.) for engineering deliverables are met.
o Ensuring design reviews are completed and productive
o Ensures the quality of all team deliverables meet standards and timing
o Ensures that the discipline specific KPIs are met
o Ensure any required cross-functional design reviews or data sharing is completed
• Responsible for planning (resources, timing) as applicable
• Ensures appropriate technical supplier relationships for all relevant key suppliers.
• Ensures proper sign off on quality of event for all engineering deliverables per GPEP.
• Ensures proper engineering quote response is provided for new projects and engineering changes. As necessary, supports
customer technical reviews.
• Directly manages the team in the implementation of objectives and overall activities and effort estimates.
• Participates in continuous improvement efforts, researches, recommends and initiates implementation of enhancements to
products, processes and programs.
• Ensures all necessary engineering documentation and data is generated and maintained to ensure traceability and compliance
to company procedures (e.g. Process - Work Instructions) and applicable standards (e.g. ISO/TS 16949, ISO/IEC TR 15504).
• Acts as working supervisor and will perform regular engineering tasks together with the leadership role. The split of the
workload will be determined by the size of the team.
• Support system/product requirements specifications, solution definition, technical feasibility analysis, and architecture
specification.
• Provides technical guidance for system design and integration engineering activities. Ensures conceptual integrity of system
design.
• Create and maintain project documentation
• Lead cross functional requirements reviews
• Develop with the support of all stakeholders the system level DFMEA for the product.
• Coordinate with Manufacturing and Software teams to develop interface requirements including EOL and module programming
requirements.
• Support creation of:
o Detailed discipline specific design description
o Mechanical/electrical and hardware/software interface specifications
o 8D reports
o Timing Plans
o Other documents, as needed
• Supports system testing activities of products on bench and in vehicles making sure the product functions and performs as the
customer expects per requirements.
• Actively pursue cost saving ideas.
• Be aware of innovative solutions and propose patent applications.
• Perform complex work assignments requiring independent problem solving and decision making, requiring strong systems
engineering technical competency
• Work assignments primarily involve senior/advanced level work and may mentor other Systems Engineer.
• Lead the planning, scheduling, monitoring and reporting of all systems engineering related activities for various projects
• Performs other duties as necessary in support of business objectives. Ensures that facilities are in full compliance with all safety
regulations.
• Maintains regular attendance.
• Follows safe work procedures; Uses appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE); Uses workplace tools and equipment as
instructed; Reports workplace hazards, injuries and illness as soon as possible following event.
• Complies with the requirements of Quality Operating System (QOS)

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education/Experience
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering / Systems Engineering / Electrical Engineering / Computer Science or equivalent
(Master's preferred)
• 8+ years' relevant experience regarding the Responsibility / Activities (listed above) in serial development. Automotive
electronic (mandatory)

Technical Knowledge
• Knowledge of product development engineering practices in automotive field
• Requirements management
• Revision control
• Change control
• Requirements decomposition planning and reporting (KPI generation)
• Test plan development
• Test execution planning
• Track records of writing good requirements that can be successfully implemented.
• Profound technical knowledge of automotive electronics products. Familiar with typical automotive OEM requirements. Can
anticipate customer requirements, even if not stated in customer documentation.
• Experienced in use of requirements management tools. Familiar with concepts such as baselining, inheritance etc.
• Working knowledge of IS026262, hazard, SAE J2464, IEC, NEC, ISO 20G53, and two-level fault strategies.
• Software
o Experience with ALM tools (e.g. PTC Integrity, DOORS), simulation SW (e.g. Matlab SIMULINK, IPG Carmaker,...),
Enterprise Architect
o Expertise in using CAN based tools such as CANalyzer, CANoe, CANape, neoVI, etc.
o Experience with UML or Matlab/Simulink and Stateflow

Practical Knowledge
• Working knowledge in structured engineering approach
• Working knowledge in development of portable, reusable and modular software in automotive environment.
• Experience in using a disciplined software development process based on ASPICE or CMMi process model
• Working knowledge of configuration management (preferably PTC/MKS), project monitoring and control techniques
• Troubleshooting and debugging skills
• Knowledge of structured problem solving (8D) methods and/or techniques
• Knowledge about management by motivating
