Overview

WakeMed Cary Hospital is seeking an experienced Team Lead, MRI to support our Imaging Services team. This role is ideal for an MRI Technologist who is ready to combine strong clinical expertise with leadership responsibilities in a collaborative, patient-centered environment.

About the Role

The Team Lead, MRI Technologist provides high-quality diagnostic images by operating MRI equipment in accordance with physician orders and established safety procedures. This role also supports department operations by serving as a lead technologist, mentoring staff, and ensuring adherence to imaging protocols and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Oversight of Work (20%)
  • Assist department leadership with daily operations and workflow coordination
  • Support a productive, efficient, and team-oriented environment

Training & Development (20%)
  • Train and mentor new and existing MRI technologists
  • Evaluate staff performance and ensure competency through observation and coaching
  • Promote adherence to best practices and protocol compliance

Records Management (20%)
  • Maintain accurate employee and patient records
  • Ensure documentation meets regulatory and organizational standards

Diagnostic Imaging (15%)
  • Perform MRI procedures to produce high-quality diagnostic images
  • Follow physician orders and established imaging protocols

Data Recording (10%)
  • Record diagnostic results and enter required information into system(s) accurately

Equipment Positioning & Operation (15%)
  • Position patients and imaging equipment appropriately for each exam
  • Adjust controls according to examination specifications to ensure optimal image quality

Licensure

  • Registered Technologist in Radiography (ARRT) (Required)

  • Registered Technologist in Nuclear Medicine Technology (ARRT-NMT) or Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) (Required)

Education

  • Graduate of an accredited program in Radiologic Technology (Required)
    or
  • Graduate of an accredited program in Nuclear Medicine (Required)

Experience
