THE POSITIONKeyera is seeking a Team Lead, Maintenance to join the Pipelines & Terminals Regional Maintenance team. Reporting to the Area Maintenance Manager, this role provides frontline leadership for safe, reliable, and efficient mechanical maintenance execution across terminal, pipeline, and regional facility assets.The position leads employees and contractors, supports field execution, aligns work with planning and scheduling processes, and drives improved asset reliability, repair quality, regulatory compliance, and work management performance.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Lead day-to-day mechanical maintenance execution across terminal, pipeline, and regional facility assets, with priority focus on safe work, rotating equipment, critical systems, and operational continuity.
- Coordinate field priorities, crew availability, contractor resources, overtime, callout readiness, and schedule alignment to support planned, break-in, corrective, preventive, and outage work.
- Provide technical support for troubleshooting, defect resolution, repair planning, testing, commissioning, and quality assurance for mechanical and facility maintenance work.
- Support reliability improvement programs, including bad actor management, lubrication, vibration-based predictive maintenance, condition-based monitoring, and meaningful CMMS history capture.
- Oversee maintenance for regional office facility including HVAC, fire protection, emergency systems, lighting, plumbing, overhead doors, security systems, and related assets.
- Manage facility and maintenance contractors, including scope development, qualification requirements, execution oversight, quality assurance, performance management, and compliance with Keyera safety expectations.
- Ensure regulatory inspections, testing, certifications, permits, control-of-work requirements, and maintenance documentation are completed in accordance with applicable legislation, codes, standards, and corporate requirements.
- Coach, mentor, and support maintenance personnel while reinforcing Keyera27s Cultural Behaviours, Corporate Values, and commitment to an incident- and injury-free workplace.
- Escalate significant safety concerns, repeat failures, contractor performance issues, resource constraints, compliance gaps, and reliability risks, and support continuous improvement initiatives that improve safety, reliability, and business performance.
QUALIFICATIONSThe successful candidate will be safety-focused, collaborative, and organized, with strong mechanical maintenance expertise and practical leadership experience.
- Journeyperson Mechanical Trade Certification, Mechanical Technologist designation, or equivalent mechanical maintenance experience; Maintenance Management Professional designation is considered an asset.
- Minimum 10 years of industrial maintenance experience in terminal, pipeline, facility, energy, petrochemical, or similar operations, including at least 5 years of leadership experience supervising or leading maintenance employees and contractors.
- Strong knowledge of rotating equipment, mechanical systems, facility maintenance, building systems, regulatory inspections, contractor management, safe work practices, permits, and control-of-work requirements.
- Solid understanding of maintenance work management, CMMS practices, planning, scheduling, execution, closeout, asset history, reliability programs, and continuous improvement.
- Proven troubleshooting, decision-making, communication, coaching, and collaboration skills, with a demonstrated commitment to safety and a valid driver27s license with satisfactory driving abstract.
- Ability to build strong collaborative relationships across Operations, Maintenance, Reliability, Engineering, Supply Chain, and contractor teams.
- A valid driver27s license and ability to provide 5-year standard driver abstract (clean driver27s abstract).
