Salary range (but not limited to): 138,500 - 169,300 Annual bonus target, based on the base salary, with a potential payout of up to double the target (subject to personal and company performance): 15% As part of our commitment to Win As A Team, we share our success with employees through our annual bonus plan and Employee Share Purchase Plan (ESPP) - with Intact matching 50% of your net shares. Salary for the candidate will be determined taking into consideration a number of factors including: experience, skills, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, internal equity, etc. The salary range presented above is based on a 35-hour workweek and would represent a majority of different candidate profiles. However, we encourage candidates who may fall outside of this range to apply as well. About the role We are pleased to announce that we are looking for team leads within the Lab! Opportunities are available across few lab families, including AI in Risk and AI in Ops. In this role, you will be responsible for leading a small team of data scientists and/or actuarial analysts and/or AI developers. This role combines operational leadership and technical expertise to coordinate daily activities, implement data science strategy, improve key processes, and support business objectives. You will be a trusted partner for management teams, ensure smooth communication with stakeholders, guide talent development, and oversee the design of models and analyses that directly contribute to product performance, customer satisfaction, and profitability. What you'll do here:
  • Formulate appropriate recommendations after analyzing and interpreting reports produced by team members to improve the performance of products and services.
  • Manage the evaluation, development and coaching of members of their team to achieve the strategic objectives of the company, while creating a highly engaged workforce, where employees contribute to the success of the team and company.
  • Coordinate their team's activities by organizing, planning and controlling the work.
  • Provide technical advice to their team members responsible for Data Science and Actuarial work and studies (Risk assessment, data extraction/enrichment, natural language processing, process optimization, agentic workflows, evaluation benchmarks and other data science techniques and models)
  • Represent the Data Science function in various working groups/committees and act as a point of contact with other business units.
  • Participate on project-based tasks as assigned by Manager and/or Director.
What you bring to the table:
  • University degree in Mathematics, Statistics, or Actuarial Sciences (FCIA or FCAS an asset) and/or background in Machine learning, Data Science or any combination of equivalent training and experience.
  • 5 years of professional experience in Data Science or Actuarial.
  • Proven coaching experience (with data scientists an asset).
  • Strong communication, time management, and work organization skills.
  • Leading with vision and values.
  • Development of strategic working relationships.
  • Development of others and fostering engagement.
  • Facilitating change.
  • Bilingualism (English-French), For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is required considering the necessity to interact on a regular basis with English-speaking colleagues across the country.
  • No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada
