Under general direction of the CAO and guided by the Vice-Chair for Teaching, in collaboration with instructional faculty, the Teaching Laboratory Supervisor manages the department's teaching laboratories and laboratory preparation facilities. The incumbent oversees laboratory operations, supervises technical staff, coordinates instructional laboratory preparation, prepares and maintains laboratory materials, ensures compliance with safety regulations, and provides technical expertise to support teaching and educational activities. Required to work with and be in areas where hazardous materials, heat, and strong odors are present.

- Demonstrated experience supporting laboratory operations in an academic teaching environment.
- Experience maintaining scientific laboratory equipment and coordinating equipment repairs and maintenance.
- Experience Training and mentoring laboratory personnel.
- Knowledge of and demonstrated experience in the basic microbiology principles such as sterile techniques, media preparation, and laboratory procedures.
- Knowledge of laboratory safety practices, hazardous materials management, and regulatory compliance.
- Strong organizational, and recordkeeping skills; excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications - Demonstrated supervisory experience, including staff training, scheduling, performance management, and team leadership.
- Experience developing laboratory protocols and instructional procedures.
- Experience managing laboratory safety programs and regulatory compliance activities.
- Knowledge of molecular biology techniques, including PCR, DNA/RNA extraction, electrophoresis, and microbial culture methods.
