Job Summary:

PYA Waltman Capital, LLC is seeking an experienced Tax Senior to join our team. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely tax compliance for our financial planning clients while collaborating closely with colleagues to identify and implement strategic tax-planning opportunities.

RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Tax Compliance
    • Facilitate complex tax filings for firm clients, including high-net worth individual, fiduciary, partnership, closely held corporations, and estate returns
    • Compile, analyze, and validate client data, computations, and supporting documentation
    • Coordinate with PYA Waltman's affiliate, PYA, to ensure accurate and timely filing of client tax returns
    • Assist with IRS correspondence and follow-up as needed
  • Advisory
    • Serve as a trusted advisor, proactively identifying tax-planning opportunities and advising clients on the implications of financial decisions and transactions
      • Meet with clients to review income, discuss tax implications, and provide strategic recommendations
      • Prepare analyses to support tax-efficient strategies, including estimated tax payments and adjustments
      • Conduct research-based tax projects and deliver clear, actionable recommendations
  • Partner with colleagues to help clients align financial decisions with their values, integrating tax strategy with personalized investment and financial planning solutions
  • Engage in continuous learning to maintain current knowledge of tax laws, planning strategies, and industry best practices


REQUIREMENTS:
  • Minimum of 4 years of tax and accounting experience, preferably with a national public accounting or consulting firm
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Enrolled Agent (EA) preferred
  • Interest in pursuit of Series 65 license

  • Polished professionalism including a positive attitude combined with excellent oral/written communication skills
  • Ability to exercise tact, courtesy, and discretion in contacts at all levels - both within and outside the Firm
  • Detail-oriented individual with the ability to exercise initiative, judgment, and take ownership when dealing with support tasks
  • Demonstrated ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines when faced with multiple/competing tasks

POSITION TYPE:

Full-time: office hours are Monday - Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; overtime may be required periodically depending upon workload and projects.
