We currently have an exciting career opportunity for a Tax Senior Associate to join the National Tax team in one of our offices!

CohnReznick is a hybrid firm and most of our professionals are located within a commutable distance to one of our offices. This position is considered hybrid which means team members are expected to be thoughtful and intentional in how they create opportunities for in-person collaboration. While the cadence of in-office presence is determined at the team level, our professionals are encouraged to be in the office/together in person on average 3 days a week.

YOUR TEAM.

This position will support our National Tax Team, which in turn supports the firm's broader tax practice. The right candidate will have a growth mindset and look for ways to expand their knowledge within both the tax space associated with their specialized services and varying industries.

They will also be eager to collaborate on thought leadership, webinars, and seminars while remaining results focused on assisting both internal and external clients in achieving their wide-ranging business goals.

YOUR ROLE.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:
  • Serve as the engagement lead on specific client accounts
  • Take responsibility for pre-engagement planning, execution, and final deliverables
  • Writing memos and tax alerts
  • Assist with internal and external presentations
  • Develop detailed engagement work plans
  • Illustrate budgets and schedules
  • Researching complex federal income tax law
  • Learn about and provide insight on new and complex tax provisions across all federal income taxes
  • Create tax models and checklists to be used by other members of the federal tax team
  • Be a tax technical resource to firm partners and managers

YOUR EXPERIENCE.

The successful candidate will have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting; Master's in Tax is a plus
  • Must have experience preparing and reviewing the following types of tax returns and corporate tax provisions: 1120 C Corporation returns, both separate company and consolidated 1120 corporate tax returns as well as corporate tax provisions covering same. Also, have some experience with both Inbound and Outbound C corporations having cross-border activity and ability to work across National Tax Groups (e.g., ITS-National Tax) on these matters)
  • CPA, LLM or JD is preferred
  • 3+ years of tax experience
  • Must be detailed oriented, self-motivated and strive in a fast pace ever changing environment
  • Strong tax research skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation (verbal and written) skills, as well as exceptional client services skills
  • Proven competence with MS Office and tax compliance and research software, including but not limited to CCH Axcess, CCH Engagement, BNA Tax Research, and RIA Tax Research.

In New York, the salary range for a Senior Associate is $85,000 to $140,000. Actual compensation within the range will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience, qualifications and location, and applicable employment laws.
