Job Summary and QualificationsAs the Business Credits and Incentives Manager you will be responsible for identifying, securing, managing, and reporting on incentives, grants, and other public and private funding opportunities that support organizational growth and strategic initiatives. This role collaborates with internal stakeholders, government agencies, economic development organizations, and external partners to maximize available funding while ensuring compliance with incentive and grant requirements.
Job Responsibilities:
- Research and identify local, state, federal, and private incentive and grant opportunities.
- Evaluate funding opportunities and determine organizational eligibility.
- Outline objectives, commitments, terms / conditions, risks, and estimated impact to company in a manner that will facilitate an efficient review and decision-making process.
- Prepare, review, and submit incentives and grant proposals, applications, and supporting documentation.
- Build and maintain relationships with economic development agencies, consultants, and funding organizations.
- Manage awarded incentives and grants throughout their lifecycle.
- Ensure compliance with agreements, reporting requirements, and regulatory guidelines.
- Track project milestones, expenditures, job creation commitments, and other performance metrics.
- Coordinate with various internal and external teams to gather required documentation.
- Maintain accurate records of applications, awards, compliance reports, and deadlines.
- Monitor legislative and regulatory changes affecting funding programs.
- Develop financial analyses to quantify the value of available incentives / grants.
- Support capital investment, workforce development, and expansion projects.
- Prepare executive reports on incentive / grant opportunities, awards, compliance status, and financial impact.
- Once the compliance period ends, ensure proper close-out, including final reporting, or providing any required documentation to governmental agency.
- Conduct audits and support agency reviews / audits as required.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree is required; preferably in Business, Finance, Economics or Governmental Policy
- 7-10 years of relevant work experience is required
- Excellent analytical skills is required
- Experience in incentive/grant management or economic development is required
- Project management experience is required
- Financial management and budgeting knowledge is required
- Proficient in Microsoft Office is required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills is required
