Full Job Description
Doeren Mayhew is seeking a Tax Director to join our Orlando, Florida office. This role is responsible for leading tax compliance and planning engagements, delivering high-quality client service through technical quality control, cost effectiveness, accuracy, and timeliness.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the planning, execution, and review of complex federal, state, and local tax engagements for privately held businesses, high-net-worth individuals, and pass-through entities.
  • Serve as the primary advisor to clients, providing proactive tax planning strategies that align with their business and financial goals.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through exceptional service, responsiveness, and trusted advisory support.
  • Research complex tax issues and communicate practical recommendations to clients and internal teams.
  • Review tax returns, workpapers, and deliverables to ensure technical accuracy, quality, and compliance with firm standards.
  • Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations and educate clients and team members on emerging developments.
  • Identify opportunities to expand client services and collaborate with other service lines to deliver comprehensive solutions.
  • Lead client meetings, presentations, and year-round tax planning discussions.
  • Manage engagement budgets, staffing, scheduling, and profitability while ensuring timely completion of client work.
  • Mentor, coach, and develop tax managers, seniors, and staff through performance feedback, technical training, and career development.
  • Participate in recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding new tax professionals.
  • Support firm growth initiatives through business development activities, networking, community involvement, and proposal development.
  • Maintain compliance with professional standards, firm policies, and regulatory requirements.
