Job Description:In this role, you will serve as a firmwide resource for accounting methods related matters and will be exposed to and lead a wide range of issues and projects.
Must be located near a Baker Tilly office.

Responsibilities:
- Conduct in-depth technical research and analysis of complex accounting method matters
- Research and interpret statutes, regulations, administrative guidance, case law, and other authoritative sources to develop technically sound positions and practical recommendations.
- Monitor and evaluate new and proposed tax legislation, regulations, administrative guidance, and judicial decisions, and assess their potential impact on clients and the firm's tax practice.
- Serve as a national technical resource, collaborating with practice leaders, subject-matter specialists, and client-facing teams to provide guidance on complex, significant, or accounting method matters.
- Utilize your entrepreneurial skills to network and build strong relationships internally and externally.
- Demonstrate leadership, initiative, excellent team skills, and high ethical standards.
- Develop connections in the tax intelligence community, raising the public profile of Baker Tilly among our peers
- Support the growth and development of team members in accounting methods.
- Draft and review internal and external tax alerts, technical updates, articles, presentations, and other thought-leadership materials, translating complex tax concepts into clear, concise, and actionable guidance.
- Develop and deliver technical training, webinars, and other educational programs to share knowledge and enhance accounting method capabilities across the firm.
- Build and maintain strong relationships across service lines, practice offices, and engagement teams to promote collaboration, knowledge sharing, and consistent application of accounting method projects.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or other related field required; Masters or advanced degree preferred
- CPA or JD required.
- Ten (10)+ year(s) experience in accounting methods and/or federal tax consulting.
- Experience performing tax research, reading case law and familiarity with the internal revenue code and associate regulations.
- Demonstrated tax technical, analytical, organization, interpersonal, and project management skills
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including experience drafting technical memoranda and tax analyses.
- Strong analytical, organizational, project management, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
The pay rate ranges for this position are listed below. Actual compensation is influenced by a variety of relevant factors including but not limited to applicant's skills, prior experience, qualifications, degrees, professional certifications, work arrangements and geographic location. Baker Tilly offers a comprehensive compensation and benefits package to eligible employees.
The national pay rate range is $255,010 to $497,280
In California: pay rate range is $280,510 to $497,280
