Position Overview:
Peraton is seeking a highly skilled TASO Team Lead to guide our Technical Analysis and Special Operations (TASO) team in support of advanced cyber defense missions. This role provides leadership across threat hunting, malware analysis, digital forensics, and incident response within Department networks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor the TASO team, ensuring technical direction, operational efficiency, and highquality analytic output across all mission areas.
- Oversee advanced network threathunting operations across onpremises and cloud environments, staying aware of evolving threats and ensuring methodologies remain current.
- Manage escalated security events from CIRT, delivering expert guidance andwhen necessarydirect support in reverse engineering, packet analysis, and forensic examinations of devices and network assets.
- Direct forensic analysis efforts on Departmentowned devices, validating findings and ensuring results inform security policies, control improvements, and testing activities.
- Provide subject matter expertise in cyber threat analysis, digital forensics, and network security to internal leadership and Department stakeholders.
- Coordinate domestic and international travel for Cyber Security Assessments (CSA), mission briefings, and consultations, ensuring personnel readiness and compliance with security requirements.
- Fulfill core Peraton management responsibilities, including performance reviews, timesheet approvals, staff development, workload prioritization, and ensuring all milestones and deliverables meet quality and schedule requirements.
Qualifications
Minimum required qualifications:
- Bachelors degree and a minimum of 10 years.
- Must currently hold, or be able to obtain prior to start date, at least one of the following certifications (and maintain it as a condition of employment):
- CCNA-Security, CND, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, or SSCP
- Expertise in determining system specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility and system security maintenance.
- Demonstrated ability to identify, analyze, and resolve program support deficiencies.
- Proven capability to develop and recommend effective corrective actions.
- U.S. citizenship required.
- Active Top Secret security clearance.
- Ability to obtain a final TS/SCI clearance.
Target Salary Range$135,000 - $216,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individuals experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
