Job Description

We are seeking a Talent Development Specialist to join our in Ottawa for the next 12 month.

You will play a key role in designing, delivering, coordinating and continuously improving learning and development solutions that support business performance and organizational growth. You will work closely with leaders, HR partners, and subject matter experts to identify capability needs and translate them into practical, scalable learning solutions.

This role supports both technical and leadership development across the organization and requires a balance of strategic thinking and hands-on execution. You will collaborate with colleagues across Canada, the United Kingdom, and the United States to leverage global learning resources while ensuring solutions meet local business needs.

In this role you will be:
  • Participate in the full lifecycle of learning and talent development programs, including needs analysis, content development, communications, facilitation, evaluation, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Design, coordinate, and facilitate virtual and in-person learning programs, workshops, leadership training sessions and sessions across GD
  • Administer and coordinate standard training. Examples include our New Hire Training and Annual Compliance Training
  • Partner with business leaders, HR teams, and subject matter experts to support the development and delivery of impactful learning solutions
  • Manage end-to-end program administration including scheduling, logistics, learner communications, participation tracking, and completion reporting
  • Develop engaging communication campaigns and promotional materials to increase awareness, participation, and learner engagement
  • Support the ongoing enhancement of learning programs, processes, and tools through innovation, collaboration, and best practices in talent development
  • Leverage AI, digital tools, and learning technologies to enhance learner experience and efficiency


Qualifications

What You Need to Have to Succeed
  • 3-5 Years of experience in Talent Development, Learning & Development, Organizational Development, or a related field
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Adult Education, Organizational Development, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field
  • Experience designing, coordinating, and facilitating learning and leadership development programs
  • Strong facilitation, communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Knowledge of instructional design principles and adult learning methodologies
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS), virtual learning platforms, and Microsoft Office Suite

What Makes You Stand Out
  • Experience supporting technical or engineering-based teams
  • Experience working within a global or multi-site organization
  • Experience managing external learning vendors and third-party learning solutions
  • Familiarity with AI-enabled learning tools and digital learning technologies
  • Relevant certifications in Learning & Development, Instructional Design, Adult Education, or Human Resources

How We Work
  • Work Schedule: 37.5 hours per week
  • Work Arrangement: Hybrid - 3 days in office
  • Job Type: 12 month term contract

Additional Information

The hiring range for this position is $77,000 $96,000 per annum
