Talent Acquisition Specialist (IT Recruiting)

Location: Maryland (Hybrid - Canton or Columbia/Merriweather area, approximately 3 days per month onsite)
Duration: 6-Month Contract-to-Hire
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 40 hours/week
Compensation: $42.11/hr

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Talent Acquisition Specialist to manage full-cycle recruitment for a variety of mid-to-senior level IT positions. This role requires a proactive recruiter who can independently drive hiring initiatives, build strong partnerships with hiring managers, and develop effective sourcing strategies to attract top technical talent.

The ideal candidate is a strong talent hunter with agency or corporate recruiting experience, excellent stakeholder management skills, and the ability to recruit for complex technology roles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the full recruitment lifecycle from intake through offer and onboarding support.
  • Partner with hiring managers to develop recruiting strategies and provide market insights.
  • Source, identify, and engage passive candidates using LinkedIn Recruiter, job boards, referrals, networking, and other sourcing channels.
  • Manage a requisition load of approximately 15-30 openings simultaneously.
  • Conduct intake meetings, candidate screenings, interview coordination, and offer negotiations.
  • Build and maintain talent pipelines for current and future hiring needs.
  • Ensure accurate applicant tracking and reporting within ATS systems.
  • Provide an exceptional candidate and hiring manager experience throughout the recruitment process.
  • Participate in recruitment marketing initiatives, networking events, and diversity recruiting efforts as needed.

Qualifications

Required

  • 3+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience in corporate or agency environments.
  • 3+ years of IT recruiting experience.
  • Experience recruiting for software, data, engineering, or technology-focused positions.
  • Strong sourcing and passive candidate engagement skills.
  • Experience managing 10+ concurrent requisitions.
  • Understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) concepts.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical hiring managers and understand technical terminology.
  • Experience with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), preferably PeopleSoft.
  • Experience using LinkedIn Recruiter and other sourcing tools.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills.

Preferred

  • Staffing agency recruiting experience.
  • Experience supporting high-volume recruitment environments.
  • Knowledge of healthcare or health insurance industry recruiting is a plus.
  • Experience with tools such as HireEZ, Telemetry, or similar recruiting technologies.
