Job Description:

Our Digital, Technology, & Distribution (DT&D) segment is looking for a Talent Acquisition Partner to support hiring for our Cat Technology student & graduate talent programs with a focus on functional early-in-career full-time employees and internships in the United States.  In this role, you will collaborate and partner with fellow student & graduate recruiters to execute our long-term strategy to recruit top internship and full-time direct hire technology talent from colleges and universities into Caterpillar. This person will also promote and support Caterpillar’s recruitment brand across schools and various community events with a focus on interns including partnering with DT&D’s Senior Talent Management Partner for Student & Graduate Programs on the internship program execution.  With a focus on strong university relationships, professional partnerships, intern conversions & best-in-class programs, you will strategically build the future talent for Cat Technology & the Autonomy & Intelligent Systems Engineering function at Caterpillar.  

What You Will Do:

  • Manage recruitment cycle from hello to hire by executing hiring for functional student & graduate roles based on yearly allocations including recruiting, interviewing, making offers, onboarding, and communicating orientation and start date plans for new employees.  

  • Partner and consult with hiring managers regarding recruiting strategies and practices that support the goals and direction of the organization, leveraging data to drive decision-making.  

  • Join forces with our team of Student & Graduate Talent Recruiters on a best-in-class agile university relations & professional partnerships strategy & engagement plan to ensure white glove recruitment of the right talent for our student & graduate talent positions now and in the future.  

  • Lead university recruiting teams at identified strategic campuses and clubs to ensure execution of the functional recruitment strategy.

  • Execute, in partnership with broader global DT&D student & graduate team, the internship program to continue to best meet the needs of the business.  

  • Review trend analysis and utilize data for continuous program & recruitment improvement.  

  • Utilize the applicant tracking system (ATS), Candidate Relationship Management (CRM) tools and industry-leading sourcing technologies to deliver the most qualified candidates for current roles and building strong candidate pipelines for future roles.  

  • Contribute towards broader recruiting team projects.  

What You Have:

  • Relationship Management: Knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers. 

  • Customer/Market Focus: Understanding of the importance of remaining aware of shifting market priorities and ability to respond to internal and external customer needs in a manner that consistently adds value. Talent Acquisition experience in energy, utilities, power or automotive preferred.

  • Candidate Screening: Knowledge of techniques, methods and processes of candidate screening; ability to preselect suitable candidates for first and further interviews within the organization.

  • Staffing and Recruiting: Knowledge of standards, processes, techniques and methods used in staffing and recruiting; ability to identify, select, retain and relocate qualified personnel, both internally and externally, for a wide range of positions. 

  • Workforce Analytics: Knowledge of human resources (HR) and workforce issues and trends; ability to analyze workforce data, information and metrics and apply the results to support business decisions. 

  • Managing Multiple Priorities: Knowledge of effective self-management practices; ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation.

  • Experience or familiarity with Student & Graduate recruitment and programs including internships.

Top Candidates will also have:

  • Knowledge of Organization: Knowledge of the organization's vision, structure, culture, philosophy, operating principles, values, and code of ethics; ability to understand the value of aligning capabilities with business goals to support optimal performance.

  • Recruitment Channel Management: Knowledge of the benefit, selection, implementation, and operation of various recruitment channels; ability to use appropriate channels to achieve objectives of organizational talent strategy.

  • Familiarity in Workday- specifically as a recruiter.

  • Exposure to recruiting talent to Caterpillar, especially student & graduates including interns

  • Knowledge or experience with technology programs or other student & graduate programs

  • Experience adapting to changing circumstances and working effectively in a dynamic environment.

  • Comfortable working without direct supervision.  

  • Strong judgment and creative problem-solving skills.

  • Experience finding common ground and reaching mutually beneficial agreements while communicating to internal and external customers at various levels in the organization 

  • Desire to be seen as a SME for students & graduates while driving innovative strategic solutions for hiring talent 

  • Previous experience driving intern conversions as a best practice pipeline for full-time entry-level positions 

  • Experience collaborating and communicating across the complex matrix organizations for the betterment of the organization to drive the company as an employer of choice for students & graduates 

  • Experience identifying problems, analyzing information, and implementing solutions 

Additional Information:

  • Travel up to 50% during peak recruiting times. (Peak Times are January- March; May; August – October).

Summary Pay Range:

$89,210.00 - $133,810.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
