The opportunity

We are looking for a Talent Partner to help us build our San Francisco team.

This is a hands-on recruiting role for someone who can identify, engage and close exceptional people across AI, biology, software engineering and operations.

You will partner closely with hiring managers to understand their needs, shape hiring processes and build high-quality candidate pipelines.

As an early member of the Talent team, you will help define how we hire in the US and how candidates experience Latent Labs.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both strategic partnership and hands-on execution in a fast-moving, high-talent-density environment.

Who you are
  • You have experience hiring for highly technical, scientific or deep-tech teams
  • You are confident sourcing and engaging passive candidates, especially for difficult or highly specialised roles
  • You are able to partner closely with hiring managers, understand technical requirements and help calibrate what great looks like
  • You communicate clearly and can represent a complex scientific mission in a simple, compelling and credible way
  • You are organised, proactive and comfortable managing multiple hiring processes at once
  • You care deeply about candidate experience and know how to run thoughtful, structured and efficient processes
  • You enjoy early-stage environments where you are expected to bring judgement, pace and ownership.

What sets you apart
  • Experience hiring in San Francisco or the Bay Area talent market.
  • Experience hiring for AI labs, biotech companies, frontier research teams or highly selective engineering organisations.
  • Familiarity with academic sourcing, research communities, conferences, labs or university networks.
  • Experience hiring across machine learning, computational biology, protein design, wet lab biology, software engineering or related fields.
  • Experience using Ashby, LinkedIn Recruiter, Gem, Greenhouse or similar recruiting tools.
  • Experience helping build hiring processes, scorecards, sourcing workflows or talent reporting from scratch.

Your responsibilities
  • Partner with hiring managers in San Francisco to understand team priorities, role requirements and hiring goals.
  • Own full-cycle hiring across a range of technical, scientific and business roles.
  • Build and manage high-quality candidate pipelines through sourcing, referrals, networks and direct outreach.
  • Engage exceptional passive candidates and communicate Latent Labs' mission with clarity and conviction.
  • Run structured, candidate-friendly hiring processes from kickoff through to offer.
  • Advise hiring managers on market mapping, candidate quality, role calibration, process design and closing strategy.
  • Help create repeatable hiring systems, including interview plans, scorecards, candidate communications and reporting.
  • Work closely with the London Talent team to build a consistent global hiring approach across both sites.
  • Represent Latent Labs externally as a thoughtful, credible and mission-driven talent partner.
