Position Summary
Reporting to the Manager Talent Acquisition, the incumbent is accountable for partnering with Hiring Managers to provide comprehensive services in all aspects of Talent Acquisition aimed at attracting and retaining high quality talent. The Talent Acquisition Consultant is responsible full life-cycle recruitment, collaborating with leaders (including senior management) and other Human Resource partners across the organization.
The Talent Acquisition Consultant integrates inclusive hiring practices, internal succession planning, external talent pipelines and works closely with the Souring Specialist on hard to fill roles. The incumbent also works with the HRBPs, Talent Acquisition Manager, and other colleagues in HR to provide seamless, holistic service to clients, either by answering inquiries directly or through consultation or escalation of more complex issues to the applicable HRBP.
Responsibilities
• Responsible for full cycle recruitment (Faculty, Support and Administrative roles) for designated client
groups including: requisition, job posting, sourcing, screening, candidate management, testing and/or assessment, interviewing, reference checking, offer letters and ATS administration
• Advise and consult with Hiring Managers for reviewing and developing job ads, ensuring consistency and accuracy in compliance with Collective Agreements where applicable
• Assisting managers to design and prepare appropriately tailored competency-based interview questions (phone interviews and face-to-face interviews) and expected responses; including incorporating appropriate weighting of assessment tools in the overall selection criteria
• Consulting and advising managers on suitable advertising venues, including leveraging social media to tap into the passive candidate pool as appropriate

• Utilizing appropriate assessment tools to shortlist and provides recommendations to managers concerning candidate(s) eligibility and suitability for the position
• Participate in HR initiatives and projects related to talent acquisition, ensuring the effective implementation of value proposition services and/or tools focused on streamlining processes and increasing overall efficiency
• Consult with managers on best practices throughout the talent acquisition process, to ensure fair, equitable and consistent processes that are free from bias to make the best hiring decisions
• Participating as selection committee member during the interview process, when applicable, ensuring proper alignment with the college's goals/objectives maintain the integrity of talent acquisition
• Providing training/coaching to the hiring manager and/or selection committee members on interviewing etiquette and behavioral interviewing techniques
• Providing professional guidance and recommendations throughout talent acquisition cycle pertaining to best practices, appropriate policies and procedures; ensuring standardization of process
Qualifications/Experience
• Three (3) year Diploma and/or Degree in Human Resources Management and/or equivalent combination of education and experience, CHRP is an asset
• Minimum five (5) years' experience with high volume full cycle end to end recruitment across all levels, with demonstrated expertise in hiring for senior level and complex roles, preferably in a unionized or regulatory environment
• Demonstrated knowledge and application of human resource management and talent acquisition theories
• Familiarity with the complexities associated with recruitment in a unionized environment including: application of collective agreements, employment legislation and familiarity with grievance procedures preferred
• Excellent interpersonal, customer service and relationship management skills with a proven ability to exercise tact and diplomacy
• Proven consulting and critical thinking skills with high attention to detail
• Sound judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality
• Strong working knowledge of employment policies and practices, sourcing and qualifying interviewing techniques
• Proven experience with social media (i.e.; LinkedIn, Twitter) for recruitment purposes
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) and Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS)
• Proven written and oral communication skills
