Full Job Description
Position Overview

Our End-User Digital Experience team within Global Technology Services is responsible for evaluating, deploying, securing, and supporting the audio visual technologies that enable collaboration across State Street's global offices. As we continue to modernize conference rooms, event spaces, personal collaboration environments, and workplace technology standards, we are seeking a self-motivated and technically curious Audio Visual Hardware Engineer to help drive innovation and operational excellence.

The successful candidate will possess deep technical expertise in enterprise AV hardware, peripheral devices, room systems, and collaboration technologies. This individual will be responsible for assessing new devices, validating security and compliance requirements, developing configuration standards, executing proof-of-concept testing, troubleshooting complex technical issues, and guiding hardware lifecycle decisions across the enterprise.

This role requires a hands-on engineer who enjoys working directly with technology, investigating root causes, validating solutions, and partnering with vendors and stakeholders to ensure reliable, scalable, and supportable AV deployments.

Primary Responsibilities

Your primary responsibilities will be threefold:

1. Audio Visual Hardware Engineering & Technology Evaluation

Lead the technical assessment, certification, and lifecycle management of enterprise AV hardware platforms with a focus on reliability, security, supportability, and user experience.

Responsibilities include:

  • Evaluating conference room, desktop, and collaboration hardware technologies.

  • Developing hardware standards and reference architectures.

  • Conducting proof-of-concept testing and technical validation.

  • Performing feature, compatibility, and interoperability assessments.

  • Identifying opportunities for hardware modernization and standardization.

  • Maintaining awareness of emerging AV and collaboration technologies.

2. Configuration, Security & Platform Readiness

Own the development and maintenance of hardware deployment standards, configuration baselines, and operational readiness requirements.

Responsibilities include:

  • Hardware configuration and provisioning standards.

  • Security assessment and vulnerability review of AV platforms and peripherals.

  • Firmware validation and lifecycle management.

  • Compliance review and documentation creation.

  • Integration testing with conferencing platforms, room systems, and enterprise infrastructure.

  • Developing deployment, support, and operational procedures.

3. Advanced Troubleshooting & Service Support

Provide senior-level technical expertise for complex hardware incidents and problem management activities.

Responsibilities include:

  • Root-cause analysis of AV hardware and room technology issues.

  • Escalation support for high-impact incidents and service disruptions.

  • Collaboration with networking, desktop engineering, cybersecurity, workplace services, and vendors to resolve technical challenges.

  • Identification and implementation of long-term corrective actions.

  • Analysis of recurring issues and recommendations for service improvement.

  • Documentation of technical findings and knowledge transfer to support teams.

As a member of the Global End-User Digital Experience organization, you will be involved in evaluating next-generation workplace technologies and helping shape the future direction of State Street's collaboration environment.

Required Skills or Certifications

  • Expertise with enterprise AV hardware platforms, including cameras, microphones, speakers, DSPs, room controllers, conferencing appliances, displays, and collaboration peripherals.

  • Experience testing, configuring, and supporting Microsoft Teams Rooms, Zoom Rooms, or equivalent collaboration platforms.

  • Experience executing proof-of-concept testing and technical evaluations.

  • Strong understanding of AV networking fundamentals, USB peripherals, device interoperability, and room technology ecosystems.

  • Experience performing technical troubleshooting and root-cause analysis across hardware, software, and infrastructure components.

  • Familiarity with firmware management, hardware lifecycle planning, and device certification processes.

  • Understanding of security requirements and risk assessment processes for endpoint and collaboration technologies.

  • Ability to work effectively with networking, cybersecurity, engineering, workplace technology, and vendor teams.

  • Strong documentation skills, including creation of technical standards, implementation guides, testing plans, and support procedures.

  • Ability to clearly communicate technical findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Creative and effective problem-solving capabilities with strong attention to detail.

  • Experience with Incident, Problem, Change, and Service Management processes.

  • Ability to manage multiple initiatives and priorities simultaneously.

  • Strong ownership mentality and a desire to continuously improve technology, processes, and user experience.

Qualifications

  • The successful candidate is an energetic, hands-on engineer who enjoys investigating technology, solving technical challenges, and improving enterprise collaboration solutions.

  • Demonstrated experience supporting enterprise audio visual technologies in large-scale corporate environments.

  • Experience working directly with AV manufacturers, integrators, and technology vendors.

  • AVIXA CTS, CTS-D, CTS-I, Microsoft Teams Rooms, Zoom, or related certifications preferred.

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Computer Science, Audio Visual Technology, or a related discipline preferred.

  • Equivalent practical experience in enterprise AV engineering environments will also be considered.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is someone who naturally gravitates toward understanding how devices work, enjoys validating new technologies, investigates issues to the root cause, challenges assumptions, and ensures every hardware platform introduced into the environment is secure, supportable, and operationally ready before deployment. They are equally comfortable performing hands-on testing in a lab environment, documenting findings, collaborating with vendors, and supporting production escalations.

Salary Range:
$110,000 - $177,500 Annual
