T&D Project Scheduler

Salary Grade: G06
Minimum Midpoint Maximum
$82,463 - $111,325 - $140,187

SUMMARY:

Responsible for working closely with technical experts, project leads and project managers in planning, creating, and managing project schedules. Entails working closely with others in linking critical activities across multiple projects. Project schedulers also ensure that an open communication system is available where all stakeholders are informed about changes to established schedules. They are responsible for the timely and accurate processing of schedule updates. They analyze the impact and extent of owner and subcontractor delays and major schedule changes. They create and publish high level integrated master schedules in accordance with the requirements or needs of the necessary stakeholders. Assists in achieving the team goals and objectives including superior customer service, system integrity, cost effectiveness, and highly productive personnel.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manages a high volume workload in an area with complex utility systems

Ensures DOT, OSHA ,and Governmental compliance

Prepares, submits, and maintains appropriate documents in an accurate and timely manner

Works with sourcing to ensure material is arriving on scheduled target and arrange for alternative sourcing of requirements when supply issues arise.

Presentations to field personnel, contractor representatives, management teams, supply chain and project management to include: Plan of the week reviews, work packet reviews, weekly schedule variances, and monthly schedule reviews.

Responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining detailed resource loaded schedule

Develop and/or modify program/project schedules and/or the integration of multiple project schedules into an overall Master Program/Project Schedule

Maintain the overall Master Program/Project Schedule

Analyze the impact and extent of owner and subcontractor delays and major schedule changes.

Create and publish high level integrated master schedules in accordance with the requirements or needs of the necessary stakeholders.

Ability to analyze data and suggest corrective actions to keep the project on scope, budget, and time.

Plans and creates new schedule delays and summary reports.

Performs project progress monitoring duties, as well as identifying critical activities, and reviewing forecasts with progress achieved to date.

COMPETENCIES:

Knowledge of construction and maintenance of electric distribution and/or bulk power generation systems

Knowledge of right-of-way requirements, industry codes and standards, company standards, governmental codes, regulations, laws applicable to electric service delivery and/or bulk power generation, maintenance, and system reliability

Must be organized, detailed and schedule oriented

Demonstrated abilities to work and negotiate with customers on sensitive utility issues

Knowledge of organizational and negotiating skills to prioritize and assign work

Experience in dealing with emergency situations with minimal or no direction

Knowledge of environmental issues, concerns, and overall policies and procedures

Knowledge of PNM policies, procedures, and union contracts

Knowledge of safety rules and procedures and knowledge of warehouse inventory system and material handling

QUALIFICATIONS

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university with an emphasis in computers or related area, and five to seven years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience related to the discipline.

Minimum of 2 years experience in Project Scheduling, preferred.

Experience in Database management and creating and updating project schedules, preferred.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

Job requirements may include meeting and maintaining regulatory standards required for the position including and possession of a valid Drivers License. May also need to have and maintain a driving record that meets the Companys standards.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations

Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry

Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations

ANALYSIS AND PROBLEM-SOLVING ABILITY:

Ability to solve complex problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

Working knowledge of database, project management, spreadsheet, and word processing software

Knowledge and ability to use software applications and current computer system tools used by team.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit up to 2/3 of the time. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. May be on 24-hour call during various periods of time.

Office environment.
