Job Summary
Designs, develops, and introduces new technology and new hardware / software systems to improve operational efficiency. Provides on-going hardware / software systems support services to various stakeholders.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Authors, updates and tests standards and procedures documentation.
  • Repairs, modifies, and tests hardware and software to be used by NAV CANADA.
  • Develops and provides life-cycle support on various hardware / software systems.
  • Provides support on in-service equipment in the NCR.
  • Provides support on the installation of new equipment to Technical Services.


Job Requirements

Education:
  • Successful completion of secondary school diploma.
  • Completion of a full time post-secondary diploma in electronics technology at a recognized institution or an equivalent combination of education and experience.


Experience:
  • 2-3 years of experience in installation, configuration administration and supporting of Linux Operating Systems as well as server and workstations applications.
  • Experience in the development, and modification of installation and user documentation for new or existing systems including testing and verification.
  • Experience in the life cycle support of deployed safety critical systems including the application of maintenance policies and practices.
  • Experience in the coordination of small sized projects and external stakeholder interactions.


Knowledge (40%):
  • Knowledge of electronic theory, computer systems, and network management.
  • Knowledge of techniques and practices to maintain and certify electronic equipment and systems.
  • Knowledge of the development and / or modification of standards and procedures.
  • Knowledge of systems / equipment to provide input in the development of new systems; and to provide instruction on standards and procedures.
  • Good knowledge of preparing verification procedures and transition plans.
  • Good knowledge of computer clustering, Networking, Kubernetes and VM.


Abilities (30%):
  • Analytical skills to analyze and interpret data, information on manufactures' equipment, various standards and regulations.
  • Ability to understand and interpret the operations of complex computer systems.
  • Ability to use a variety of power hand tools.

Working conditions:
  • Occasional travel required.
