Job DescriptionDescription SAIC has an opening for a
Systems Software Architect to support AvMC located on Redstone Arsenal in
Huntsville, AL in support of multiple systems in the precision fires and battlefield systems domains. The chosen candidate will be responsible for providing technical leadership in the design, and development of embedded software for military systems applications. A successful candidate must be highly self-motivated and have a fundamental understanding of real-time embedded systems that include microcontroller and embedded systems software development tools and methodologies. The candidate should be familiar with the entire software development process including requirements analysis, design, implementation, integration and test.
Responsibilities: - Collaborate on High-level architecture, design, and cross-functional concerns
- Support technical planning, model requirements, use cases, systems and software architecture
- Develop Reference architecture models and Software Design documentation that can be leveraged by several programs
- Develop prototypes and critical software components
- Develop and integrate system-level and software module requirements to support system functionality and reusability across multiple programs
- Support systems integration, and validate testing and traceability
- Become an expert in the Systems and User interfaces and provide technical support for software systems and subsystems.
- Facilitate and coordinate technical interchange and decision-making between internal and external teams
- Work across entire product development lifecycle, including planning, design, test, delivery, operation, and maintenance.
Qualifications Required Education:- Bachelors and nine (9) years or more of related experience in a technical discipline (or equivalent years of experience); Six (6) years' additional experience can be considered in lieu of degree (per contract vehicle).
Clearance Requirements:- Must possess an Interim Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance; US Citizen required.
Required Qualifications:- Self-starting and able to work under minimal general direction to define, develop, and govern Agile System/Software Architecture methodology.
- Demonstrates broad knowledge and good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for developing solutions and improving practices.
- Experience developing Systems requirements, Use Cases, and Software Requirement Specifications (SRS)
- Experience developing traceability solutions from requirements to design and software to test
- Experience in one or more Reference Architectures such as DoDAF, MoDAF, UPDM
- UML, SysML modeling experience
- Object-oriented Design and Programming in C++
- Understanding of physical and network communication interfaces
- Software Safety and Cyber-security experience a plus
