Full Job Description
The Systems & Materials Manager is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end materials supply chain for an FPVC pipe manufacturing plant, integrating MES (Manufacturing Execution System) data with raw materials procurement, inventory control, production scheduling, and logistics. The role ensures that the right materials are available at the right time, in the right quantities, to meet production schedules and customer demands while optimizing costs and compliance.

Responsibilities
  • MES Integration & Data Management: Set-up, monitoring and interpreting MES data to track material usage, production progress, and bottlenecks; feed real-time inventory and usage data into planning systems.
  • Raw Materials Procurement: Develop and execute procurement strategies for PVC raw materials, additives, and related supplies; manage supplier relationships, contracts, and quality assurance.
  • Inventory Control: Maintain accurate inventory records for raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods; manage cycle counts, audits, and optimize stock levels to reduce waste and overstock.
  • Production Support: Collaborate with production teams to forecast material needs based on MES output, adjust procurement schedules, and ensure timely delivery of materials to the plant floor.
  • Logistics Coordination: Oversee inbound and outbound logistics, including transportation, warehousing, and material handling; ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Analyze production and inventory data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement; prepare reports for management.
  • Compliance & Quality: Ensure all material handling and storage processes comply with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and train materials management staff; foster cross-departmental collaboration between procurement, production, logistics, and quality control.


Qualifications
  • Experience: Minimum 15 years in materials management, supply chain, or manufacturing operations, preferably in PVC or pipe manufacturing.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in MES systems, ERP/SCM software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Infor), inventory management systems, and data analysis tools.
  • Soft Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership abilities; excellent communication and negotiation skills; ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and just-in-time (JIT) inventory principles.
