Job SummaryAs a team member of the Clinical Data and Business Needs unit, the Systems Integrator 1 will report to the Superintendent, Senior Systems Integration. They will be required to participate in the design, software development, testing, documentation and ongoing support of the unit's systems and applications and related interfaces and other technology systems used within the Division.

Major Responsibilities:
    • Establishes and maintains business relationships with clients to discuss and assesses clients' needs.
    • Develops software systems based on technical systems specifications of business requirements.
    • Liaises and coordinates with internal and external groups on accomplishment of deliverables.
    • Prepares and presents status report and variance explanation for projects or work packages.
    • Prepares findings and "Lessons Learned" from post implementation project reviews.
    • Determines business requirements and builds consensus amongst clients.
    • Assesses, analyses, evaluates and recommends process and policy alternatives for projects and work packages.
    • Prepares Logical Data Models and Design documents for proposed solutions that leverage information and technology as part of the solution.
    • Liaises with staff in the development of test strategy, test cases and test scripts for system, performance, usability and acceptance testing of system solutions.
    • Conducts walk through of deliverables to identify potential problems.
    • Participates in the design, development, testing, configuration, installation and debugging of programs and modifications to programs. These programs may include system generated documents, forms and reports.
    • Leads team to draft implementation and roll out strategies and plans.
    • Provides technical support for new and existing hardware and software products.
    • Assists in the resolution of technical problems.
    • Prepares and maintains training material and documentation for use by clients and staff
    • Conducts training for clients and staff.
    • Collaborates with clients on "Go/No Go" cut-over decisions, e.g. roll-outs.
    • Participates in the provision of technical support of Clinical data platform specific technologies.

Key Qualifications:

Your application must describe your qualifications as they relate to:

    1. Post-secondary education in computer science or a related discipline or the approved equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
    2. Experience in desktop and web application development using C#, .NET Framework, ASP.NET Core, UI frameworks within Visual Studio.
    3. Considerable experience in developing & maintaining SQL Scripts, Stored Procedures, Triggers, Views, Functions for Microsoft SQL Server (SQL Server 2016 or higher).
    4. Experience with the full application development lifecycle, including systems analysis, design, coding, testing, implementation, maintenance, and support of enterprise or mission-critical applications, using version control tools such as Git or DevOps.
    5. Experience with Windows (Server and Desktop), Linux Server systems and associated server hardware.


You must also have:
  • Ability to develop interfaces using vendor supplied APIs.
  • Ability to liaise with staff in development of test strategy, test cases & test scripts for system, performance, usability and acceptance testing of system solutions developed
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to negotiate effective resolution of conflicting business priorities with business clients.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, listening and interacting skills are essential.
  • Ability in working effectively with a group of multidisciplinary staff in a project team setting.
  • Demonstrated business acumen to establish and maintain an effective consulting relationship with clients and vendors, with a strong customer service orientation.
  • Ability to work with competing demands, prioritizes and meets deadlines.
  • Ability to work weekends and or evenings from time to time, as required.
  • Ability to plan, evaluate, analyze, design, implement, and integrate products within a diverse computing environment.
  • Experience working with electronic Patient Care Reporting (ePCR) systems is considered an asset, particularly in relation to data capture, validation, integration, and downstream clinical or operational reporting.
  • Experience working in an environment governed by privacy legislation would be considered an asset.
