Job Description
The Combined Orbital Operations, Logistics, and Resiliency (COOLR) program ensures U.S. military forces have continuous, secure, and uninterrupted global communications by providing operations and maintenance of Military Strategic and Tactical Relay (Milstar), and Advanced Extremely High Frequency (AEHF) satellite constellations. COOLR's mission encompasses satellite bus and payload sustainment, ground hardware maintenance, on-orbit troubleshooting, cybersecurity enhancements, and mission planning.
This position supports the AEHF and Milstar programs, providing worldwide, secure, survivable, protected communications, where you will serve as a system engineering authority for cross-element, cross-segment integration activities spanning hardware, software, and firmware boundaries. You will plan, coordinate, and execute system integration efforts across multiple engineering disciplines, driving interface definition, compatibility resolution, and end-to-end verification across subsystem and segment boundaries. Responsibilities include leading the development and execution of integration test plans and procedures for mission-critical systems, managing cross-functional technical initiatives from requirements decomposition through verification and validation, and ensuring system-level performance compliance against rigorous program specifications. The role demands strong engineering acumen, coordinating schedules, dependencies, and technical risks across multidisciplinary teams, while providing senior-level guidance on integration challenges throughout the program lifecycle. Additionally, you will perform communication planning workflows to provide the Test & Training Simulation Element (TTSE) with products used to generate Initial Configuration (IC) Sets, validate and troubleshoot those sets across segment interfaces, and lead the analysis, resolution, and documentation of anomalies discovered during mission operations and TTSE testing.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a technical discipline (e.g., System Engineering, Computer Science, etc.)
- 10+ years Experience with Milstar and AEHF Military Space Operations (e.g., strategic communications planning, frequency planning, ground terminals, etc.)
- 8+ years experience in Systems Integration and/or Systems Engineering
- Experience with software testing and the software development lifecycle
- US Citizenship required with the ability to obtain a
DoD Secret Clearance
Desired skills
- Experience with Clearcase and/or ClearQuest
- Experience with the Windows operating system
- Experience with Oracle database with knowledge of SQL commands
- Experience providing technical training
- Strong communication/presentation skills
- Strong problem-solving skills
Work Schedule Information
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
National Pay Statement
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $128,400 - $226,435. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

Premium Pay Statement
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California, Massachusetts, and New York is $147,700 - $255,990. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
