The Opportunity - Build the Future with Us

As an Intermediate Systems Integration Engineer in our Rail & Transit team, you'll play a critical role in delivering a major urban rail extension in the Greater Toronto Area. Working from our Toronto office or a project office, you'll help integrate new-build systems with existing operational transit infrastructure-ensuring safe, reliable, and seamless service from design through revenue operations.

Reporting to the Manager/Director, you'll collaborate with Chief Engineers, Designers, Project Managers, Analysts, and third-party stakeholders across multiple rail and transit disciplines. This role sits at the heart of a progressive design-build delivery model, supporting integration, verification, and validation milestones that bring complex transit systems to life.

Your Impact
  • Lead systems integration activities across signaling, communications, traction power, SCADA, and control center systems
  • Develop and maintain system architectures, functional analyses, and integration strategies across the full engineering lifecycle
  • Define and manage interfaces through Interface Control Documents (ICDs), Interface Definition Documents (IDDs), and traceability artifacts
  • Coordinate and facilitate interface resolution workshops with designers, contractors, vendors, and operators
  • Align integration and verification activities with project stage gates and design-build milestones
  • Support validation and verification planning to ensure compliance, interoperability, and performance
  • Engage directly with clients to resolve technical issues and align expectations
  • Mentor junior staff and contribute to a collaborative, high-performing project team

  • Exposure to verification & validation activities (FAT, SAT, SIT, test planning)
  • Knowledge of CENELEC standards and Metrolinx Schedule 29 is an asset
  • Familiarity with Requirements Management and Integration using tools like IBM DOORS
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across disciplines and communicate complex technical concepts clearly

Compensation

AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $98,800 - $130,800
MB & ON: $90,100 - $124,100
NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $89,200 - $118,500
