Systems Engineering & Integration Engineer to support the full development lifecycle of a portable SATCOM system. The role focuses on requirements, system architecture, system integration, verification and validation, test planning and execution, technical documentation, and customer delivery across hardware, software, network, RF, and cybersecurity components. The ideal candidate has direct experience applying systems engineering practices to a complex system from initial requirements through integration, formal verification and testing, acceptance, and final delivery. Deep SATCOM or RF hardware expertise is not required. The candidate should be comfortable working with integrated hardware/software systems and collaborating with experienced hardware and SATCOM engineers. This position is a hybrid role located in Colorado Springs, CO.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT TO DO:- Develop and maintain system architecture artifacts, including use cases, operational scenarios, sequence diagrams, interface definitions, and configuration baselines.
- Plan and coordinate system integration across hardware, software, networking, RF, and cybersecurity components, including sequencing, interface readiness, dependencies, and issue resolution.
- Develop and maintain verification strategies, Test and Evaluation Master Plan (TEMP), test plans, test procedures, requirements verification matrices, entry and exit criteria, and test reports.
- Lead assigned integration and formal test activities, including test readiness, execution, evidence collection, discrepancy resolution, regression, and verification closure
- Develop and review CDRLs and other customer deliverables for technical accuracy, consistency with the system baseline, and contractual compliance.
- Support and lead technical reviews, integration and test readiness reviews, acceptance activities, configuration reviews, and technical action closure.
- Assess the impact of technical changes on requirements, interfaces, system baselines, verification, documentation, risk, cost, and schedule.
- Support system acceptance, field integration, delivery, training, and transition to operations.
- Provide technical guidance to less-experienced SEIT engineers and help improve repeatable systems engineering and integration/test practices.
WHAT THE TEAM REQUIRES:- U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance. - Ability to work on-site in Colorado Springs at least four days per week to support team collaboration, system integration, and test activities.
- Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- 5+ years of relevant systems engineering, integration, verification, validation, or test experience, including direct participation across requirements, design, integration, formal test, acceptance, and delivery.
- Experience with requirements traceability, verification methods and evidence, system-level troubleshooting, and discrepancy resolution through regression and closure.
- Experience applying practical systems engineering methods across requirements traceability and verification.
- Experience developing or reviewing formal technical documentation, customer deliverables, and configuration-controlled engineering artifacts.
- Experience supporting technical, integration, test readiness, acceptance, and configuration reviews, including closure of technical actions.
- Strong technical writing, communication, organization, and cross-functional coordination skills, with the ability to independently drive assigned SEIT activities to closure.
- Experience working in an Agile engineering environment using collaborative tools such as Jira and Confluence to manage engineering coordination, requirements, documentation, and test activities.
WHAT THE TEAM PREFERS: - Experience supporting DoD or Government system development, rapid prototyping, or other delivery programs.
- Experience with SATCOM, RF, tactical communications, or other complex integrated hardware/software systems.
- Familiarity with INCOSE practices, ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288, MBSE, and digital engineering tools.
- Familiarity with DevSecOps practices and DoD system qualification or environmental test standards, including MIL-STD-810 and MIL-STD-461.
- Active DoD Secret or TS/SCI clearance.
PAY TRANSPARENCY: The salary offered will be based on the selected candidate's qualifications - skills, education & experience - and the position level. $115,000- $135,000.
