At Collins Aerospace, you'll have the opportunity to work on mission-critical communication solutions that support national defense and strategic nuclear deterrence. As a Systems Engineer II within Strategic Defense Solutions (SDS) - Survivable Airborne Operation Center (SAOC) System Engineering Integration and Test (SEIT) Team, you'll collaborate with experienced engineers to solve complex problems, develop your technical skills, and contribute to systems that help keep our nation safe. You'll support the development and delivery of advanced communication solutions that address critical customer and mission needs. We'll provide the training, tools, and mentorship you need to succeed. This is an onsite role located in El Segundo, CA and requires US Citizenship with the ability to obtain a Top Secret US security clearance.

What You Will Do:

• Perform in a cross-functional agile team.
• Work in close coordination with a mentor using Collins Aerospace engineering processes.
• Creation, decomposition, and tracing requirements for communications systems on military platforms, both air and ground applications.
• Work with a model-based systems engineering application to create logical and physical design diagrams.
• Perform integration and testing for these communications solutions.
• Support future bids and proposals providing new business opportunities.

Qualifications you must have:

• Experience in systems or software engineering including capturing customer requirements, operations concept development, or deriving and tracing system and sub-system requirements.
• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field.
• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued DoD Top-Secret SCI (TS/SCI) security clearance is required.
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications we prefer:

• Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering concepts and tools such as Magic Draw Cameo, Enterprise Architect, or similar resources using SysML.
• Experience developing, decomposing, and deriving system/sub-system requirements.
• Experience with Model-Based System Engineering (MBSE) concepts and tools.
• Experience in system/sub-system design definition.
• Experience with Agile development.

The salary range for this role is 75,800 USD - 144,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
