What you'll doViasat is seeking a Systems Engineer for Verification and Validation efforts in support of our work as a prime contractor on a DoD SATCOM program. The ideal candidate will be someone who can collaboratively develop system verification strategies spanning the end-to-end SATCOM architecture, including the space segment, ground segment, and network interfaces.
We are looking for a highly engaging, team-oriented and self-starting individual who can communicate and collaborate across multi-disciplinary engineering boundaries in a dynamic program environment.
The day-to-day- Develop a comprehensive V&V strategy for end-to-end SATCOM systems, including space, ground, and network segments
- Engage with Integrated Product Teams (IPT) and stakeholders to ensure alignment
- Manage system requirements to ensure clarity, traceability, and verifiability
- Decompose system requirements to ensure bi-directional traceability to verification events and artifacts
- Develop and maintain Requirement Verification Compliance Matrices (RVCMs) and Requirement Verification Traceability Matrices (RVTMs) and related work products
- Develop and deliver technical documentation and customer presentations supporting verification activities
- Present V&V strategy, status, and results at technical and program reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, etc.)
What you'll need- Bachelor of Science degree in Systems, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering or a related field or equivalent years of related work experience.
- 5+ years' experience supporting systems engineering efforts on commercial, Civil, or DoD programs
- 2+ years supporting space programs
- Demonstrated experience with requirements management, decomposition, and verification planning
- Experience with satellite and ground station development, integration, and test lifecycles
- Experience working on systems engineering projects involving multiple systems engineering teams
- Strong communication and presentation skills, including customer-facing experience
- Strong organizational, time management, and project execution skills
- Proficiency with requirements management tools (DOORS, Jama, etc.)
- Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain a security clearance
- Able to travel approx. 10% of the time
What will help you on the job- Experience leading or owning system-level V&V across multiple segments (space, ground, network)
- Demonstrated ability to successfully coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams in complex systems engineering across the product development lifecycle
- Experience with technical presentations and customer-facing activities
- Experience with MBSE tools and methodologies (SysML, Cameo, etc.)
- Experience with system analysis and modeling tools (e.g., MATLAB, Simulink, STK)
Salary range$141,500.00 - $224,000.00 / annually.For specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is $176,000.00- $264,000.00/ annually
