Standard Job DescriptionWhat We're DoingOur team, the Command and Control, Battle Management and Communications (C2BMC) team at Lockheed Martin, is dedicated to engineering, developing, and integrating new capabilities for the Missile Defense System that protects the United States and its allies. While we are part of a large organization, we operate within smaller, agile teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Our responsibilities include Sensor/Weapon Integration, Algorithm Development, User Interface Development, Automated Testing, Cyber Security, and enhancing critical missile defense technologies.
The WorkSystem Safety engineering and the development of program safety plans will provide the engineering team with the application of safety policies and guidance. The individual will also support MDA and other program personnel, performing additional system engineering tasks as needed. The successful candidate will interface with team members and National Team management to ensure that high quality products are generated on schedule and within the available resources.
Responsibilities include:
- Integration of the product lines
- Generation of responsible sections of the capability specifications
- Training less experienced personnel in SE and Safety techniques
- Reviewing the content and details of technical products, and acting as a technical interface to MDA working level counterparts on an as-required basis
-Systems engineering and software systems engineering experience required in developing new systems and integrating existing systems, with an emphasis on system safety assessment and impacts
Please Note:
-This position requires a government security clearance; you must be a U.S. Citizen for consideration.
-The role may involve approximately 10% travel to customer sites throughout the U.S.
Basic Qualifications- A final secret clearance is required
- Should possess System Engineering background with knowledge of System and Software Safety
- Working knowledge on a program dealing with safety procedures and customer deliverables
- Formal or informal team leadership experience including coaching and giving performance feedback.
Desired Skills- Experience analyzing design to ensure safety requirements are met
- Ability to apply engineering principles to analyze and recommend design features that meet safety criteria in system design to control or eliminate hazards
- Experience developing safety documents to support customer and test requirements (SAR, SRA, SSPP)
- Experience with hazard identification
- Experience participating in System Safety Working Groups
-Knowledge of MIL-STD-882E and implementing a compliant system safety program
-Experience identifying safety critical requirements and defining associated verification requirements
Pay InformationFull-Time Salary Range: $104900.00 - $194700.00

PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
