The Systems Engineer - M&A Integration executes technical integration activities associated with mergers and acquisitions. The role supports the onboarding of acquired companies into BKF's technology environment, with a primary focus on Microsoft 365, identity, collaboration services, security controls, and related cloud technologies.
Reporting to the M&A Integration Lead and receiving technical direction from the Senior M&A Technology Integration Engineer, this position performs hands-on migration, configuration, testing, troubleshooting, cutover, and hypercare activities across multiple acquisitions each year.
The ideal candidate is a technical generalist with strong Microsoft cloud and identity experience who can work independently while following established integration architecture, standards, and migration plans.
Responsibilities- Execute technical integration activities for acquired companies in accordance with approved architecture, migration plans, and BKF standards.
- Perform migrations into BKF's standard platforms, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, and OneDrive-to-Box migrations.
- Support migrations from Google Workspace, Microsoft 365 tenants, and other source environments.
- Execute identity and access integration activities involving Microsoft Entra ID, Active Directory, SSO, MFA, conditional access, provisioning, and account lifecycle management.
- Support the technical dependencies associated with endpoint deployment, including identity, Intune enrollment, application access, security policies, and user authentication.
- Support Azure and related cloud-integration activities when required, including access, permissions, subscriptions, and coordination with Cloud Operations.
- Work with acquired-company IT teams, internal stakeholders, consultants, and vendors to gather technical information and complete assigned integration work.
- Follow migration runbooks, cutover plans, validation procedures, rollback plans, and hyper care processes.
- Troubleshoot technical issues during migration, cutover, and stabilization.
- Support the integration of security, compliance, endpoint-protection, and IT-management platforms.
- Document source environments, migration activities, configurations, dependencies, risks, and completion status.
- Contribute to reusable integration playbooks, standards, checklists, scripts, and automation.
- Escalate technical risks, blockers, and design decisions to the Senior M&A Technology Integration Engineer.
Requirements- Hands-on experience administering and migrating Microsoft 365 environments.
- Experience with tenant, email, collaboration-platform, or enterprise IT migrations.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID, Active Directory, identity synchronization, MFA, SSO, and conditional access.
- Experience with Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, and OneDrive.
- Experience with Microsoft Intune, Windows Autopilot, Configuration Manager, or similar endpoint-management platforms.
- Experience supporting endpoint readiness, device enrollment, application deployment, and user onboarding.
- Familiarity with Azure administration, access, permissions, subscriptions, networking concepts, and cloud services.
- Ability to troubleshoot across identity, email, collaboration, endpoint, and cloud environments.
- Strong PowerShell, documentation, and technical-procedure skills.
- Ability to support multiple concurrent acquisition projects and planned after-hours or weekend cutovers.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work with internal teams, consultants, vendors, and acquired-company personnel.
- Ability to work independently while escalating risks and technical decisions appropriately.
- Experience with Microsoft 365 tenant-to-tenant migrations.
- Experience migrating Google Workspace environments to Microsoft platforms.
- Experience with BitTitan MigrationWiz, Quest, AvePoint, ShareGate, or similar migration tools.
- Experience automating Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Exchange Online, Intune, or Azure activities with PowerShell.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Defender, Purview, Sentinel, or related security platforms.
- Experience supporting mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, carve-outs, or enterprise onboarding.
- Experience working with managed service providers, consultants, and integration vendors.
- Familiarity with ITSM, change-management, and technical project-tracking processes.
- Relevant Microsoft certifications.
Physical Demands: Must be able to regularly talk, hear and operate a computer, keyboard and mouse and occasionally lift, pull/push and carry up to 20 pounds with accommodations.
Work Conditions: Exposure to constant or intermittent sounds at a low or moderate level consistent with an office setting. Exposure to high-stress, fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment. Travel to other BKF locations and client sites may be required.
Benefits- The typical base salary range for this position is $100,000- $135,000 annualized depending upon skills, experience, education, and geographical location. This is a salary position paid biweekly.
