Northrop Grumman Space Systems is currently seeking an experienced Systems Engineer Level 3/4 to join our team in Chandler, AZ

Position Overview

The experienced Systems Engineer will support numerous mission related system engineering product development.

Job Responsibilities:
  • The candidate should possess strong technical problem solving, written and verbal communication skills to understand, generate and document system and subsystem level launch vehicle requirements, perform vehicle performance assessments and participate in system level verification/data review activities.
  • Creates new system requirements and manages requirement changes in the Requirements Management database.
  • Creates and manages both original and revised specification/interface definition document and coordinates document approval through peer review and signature process.
  • The candidate should possess a strong resolve to drive tasks to completion autonomously. Creates and manages both original and revised specification/interface definition document and coordinates document approval through peer review and signature process.
  • The candidate should have a strong understanding of one or more disciplines supporting systems on a launch vehicle, with a desire to expand that knowledge (i.e, electrical, mechanical, guidance navigation & control, software, propulsion)
  • Provides data and support risk management process.
  • Completes Data analysis/review
  • Completes Timeline analysis
  • Interfaces with program management, engineering staff and external customer.
  • The candidate should possess strong technical problem solving, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Presents and prepares materials for presentation during System Requirement Review, System Functional Review, Preliminary Design Review, Critical Design Review and System Verification Review.


This requisition may be filled at either a Systems Engineer Level 3/4

Level 3 - Salary: $98,400.00 - $147,600.00

Level 4 - Salary: $122,800.00 - 184,200.00

Basic Qualifications Systems Engineer - Level 3
  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of related experience, or a master's degree and 3 years of related experience, or 1 year of experience with a PhD.
  • Active Government Secret Security Clearance


Basic Qualifications for Systems Engineer - Level 4
  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 8 years of related experience, or a master's degree and 6 years of related experience, or a PhD degree and 4 years of related experience.
  • Active Government Secret Security Clearance

Primary Level Salary Range: $98,400.00 - $147,600.00

Secondary Level Salary Range: $122,800.00 - $184,200.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
