Systems Engineer

Leidos is seeking a TS/SCI clearedSystems Engineer to support the Distributed Common Ground System–Navy (DCGS-N) program, with specific responsibility for the DCGS-N Ashore System (DAS) in Makalapa, Hawaii.
The selected candidate will serve as the site support and systems engineer for the DAS at U.S. Pacific Command (COMPACFLT) in Makalapa, Hawaii. This role involves extensive application configuration and administration. Candidates should have experience supporting distributed mission systems connected to enterprise infrastructure, including VMware-based environments running Windows Server, Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), and OpenShift, as well as the ability to follow detailed installation and administrative procedures.
Primary Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain the installed system, including patching, hardware management, and routine system upkeep.
- Serve as the site support engineer, including creating and maintaining user accounts in accordance with DoD and local security guidelines.
- Analyze, troubleshoot, and document system issues.
- Coordinate and collaborate with the NIWC Atlantic engineering team to resolve issues and, when necessary, develop and implement fixes.
- Work with NIWC Atlantic and local Information Assurance (IA) teams to address vulnerabilities and support system scanning activities.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field; additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree with 12-15 years related experience.
- 6+ years of relevant IT experience.
- Ability to travel up to 15%.
- Minimum IAT II certification to meet DoD 8140 compliance requirements, including CompTIA Security+ (or equivalent), as well as training or vendor certifications in Windows, Linux, VMware, or Cisco (CCNP/CCNA).
- Experience and/or training in Linux, including Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), VMware, Microsoft Windows, and Windows Server environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Dell server hardware, NetApp storage solutions, and Cisco network, firewall, and cryptographic devices.
- Experience with Microsoft Windows and Windows Server platforms, VMware technologies (including vCenter, vSphere, and ESXi), Microsoft Hyper-V, and Kubernetes or other container platforms.
- Experience using automation and configuration management tools, such as Ansible, as well as version control and collaboration workflows in a self-managed GitLab environment.
- Experience supporting the integration, testing, deployment, and sustainment of enterprise or mission systems within an Agile or SAFe product team environment.
- Ability to work effectively both remotely and in a team environment with highly skilled personnel.
- Experience supporting Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) environments or Distributed Common Ground System platforms.
- Basic networking knowledge and familiarity with mission applications in a distributed operational environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Pay Range $131,300.00 - $237,350.00
