Overview

WANTED: A Senior Systems Engineer with demonstrated experience working with DoW programs and focused on engineering issues related to manufacturing, additive manufacturing, and industrial base issues.  Desired experience in systems analysis, test and evaluation (T&E), reliability, and working with innovative efforts and technologies including Artificial Intelligence (AI).    

Responsibilities

As part of the engineering staff for the office of Developmental Test, Evaluation, and Assessments (DTE&A), you will:

  • Work within a team of engineers and warfare area experts to analyze and assess DoW acquisition programs and prototype efforts with attention paid to manufacturing issues, roadblocks, design impacts, and related issues.  
  • Using a holistic approach, review end-to-end systems and systems-of-systems oriented products through their entire life cycle.
  • Engage with programs across DoW to be able to fully understand and assess issues and factors impacting capability delivery.
  • Assess issues and risks related to industrial-base challenges and integrate these findings into DTE&A/SE&A Risk Assessments and other reviews.
  • Use DTE&A approved digital engineering (DE) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools to help automate development of all analyses and risk mitigation recommendations.  
  • Work closely within an assessment team to design and execute an analysis; be able to brief senior DoW decision makers on risks and issues.
  • Using available documentation (including digital products), discern and evaluate key requirements, test cases, verification and validation efforts.
  • Understand the key issues and drivers at the various acquisition program milestones; develop manufacturing-focused assessment plans appropriate for program status.
  • Regularly interface with other OSD elements, service offices, test activities, MDAP Chief Engineers, and industry experts.
  • Have an expert understanding of DoW instructions and regulations impacting manufacturing efforts.
  • Provide Systems Engineering and Developmental Test and Evaluation (DT&E) expertise/knowledge in support of Major Defense Acquisition Programs (MDAP) and OSD policy.
  • Understand high-level product development strategies and the impact upon capability delivery. Work with multi-discipline engineering teams to develop detailed analysis of prototypes and acquisition programs. 
  • Participates in design reviews of components (hardware and software) to ensure applicability to the current system and traceability of requirements through compliance verification and validation.
  • Reviews test plans/procedures, TEMPs, SEPs, ADMs, IMSs and other acquisition documentation to understand impact on manufacturing. 
  • Provide expert input to emerging DoW policies and instructions relating to manufacturing issues.
  • Be very familiar with emerging technology, digital engineering tools and processes, and AI impacts.

Pay Transparency StatementAMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $150,000.00/Yr. - USD $180,000/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
