Job DescriptionSystems Engineer Jr.SummaryWe are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Junior Systems Engineer to join our launch support team at Vandenberg Space Force Base. In this role, you will provide critical systems engineering and logistics support to ensure the successful execution of launch vehicle and payload operations. Working under the guidance of senior engineering staff, you will assist with system integration, track technical requirements, and support hardware readiness. This position requires a proactive professional, eager to learn space launch mission parameters, master complex operational procedures, and contribute to high-consequence mission success on the Western Range.
Position ResponsibilitiesA focus on one or more of the following Systems Engineering Functional Areas (Testing, Requirements Analysis, Integration, Specialty Engineering, and Systems Architecture) is expected:
- Develops, implements, and maintains developmental and operational acceptance test plans, procedures and reports
- Assist team on moderately complex projects or phases of significant projects; coordinates the efforts of technical support staff in the performance of assigned projects
- Analyzes and resolves program support deficiencies
- Assists in the design and requirements development/verification process
- Ensure the as-designed system requirements allocated to the project meet Safety Hazard requirements and develop associated analyses, as required
- Assists in developing and implementing training tools and documentation
- Other duties as assigned
Position Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, or related STEM field
- 0-2 years experience in systems engineering (Requirements, Test, specialty engineering, or Systems Architecture) or related engineering field
- Fundamental knowledge of engineering and systems engineering processes
- Experience working with Windows based computer systems, components, and Office tool suite
- Proficiency in MATLAB Mandatory
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance, which includes U.S. citizenship
- Valid U.S. Driver's License

The salary range for this role is:
$74,500 - $105,525
