Job Description

SAIC is currently looking for a Systems Engineer Journeyman to support our team located in Huntsville, AL.

The Systems Engineer Journeyman will be responsible for but not limited to the following responsibilities:
  • Ensure that engineering efforts follow the Department's Systems Engineering Lifecyle process.
  • Work in a multifaceted team with many stakeholders (engineering, logistics and program leadership) in problem solving efforts for designated aspects of complex problems with many competing objectives, variables, and constraints.
  • Assist with documenting solutions in relation to the technical, cost, and schedule constraints.
  • Development and review of various technical documentation, including change management documentation, presentation materials, and white papers.
  • Participate in and assist in activities for various segments of program execution, which may include Risk Management, Configuration Management, and Technical Reviews.
  • Communicate with stakeholders across program offices and industry stakeholders


Qualifications

Required Education:
  • Bachelor's degree and two (2) years' experience


Required Clearance:
  • Must possess an active Secret security clearance with the ability to maintain; US Citizenship required.


Required Skills:
  • Understanding of IT risk management principles and industry standards.
  • Proficiency in risk assessment methodologies, vulnerability assessment tools, and security frameworks.
  • Possesses excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex situations and provide practical solutions.
  • Effective communication skills to convey technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Possess a collaborative attitude with the ability to work across different teams and departments

Desired Skills:
  • Avionics experience either HW or SW
