THE WORK
Lockheed Martin's DARKWING program is seeking a talented and highly motivated Systems Engineer-IT with a TS/SCI w/ CI Poly clearance to work from our customer site in Dahlgren, VA .
The Systems Engineer develops, delivers, and operates affordable engineering and sustainment solutions for commercial, military and intelligence users across the globe.
As Systems Engineer you:
• Should have an engineering background and be familiar with Virtual Machines, Windows and LINUX Domains, Systems integration, SQL Database, Network Integration, hardware procurement, COTS software, and maintenance of operating systems.
• Must be experienced in troubleshooting anomalies and failures.
• Must be familiar with Security Engineering/ Systems Engineering for IC Security controls such as ICD503 certifications, defining workflows and monitoring for system compliance.
• Must be skilled in the set up and maintenance of firewalls/servers/network switches and routers/applications.
• Must have strong inter-personal and communication skills and must be capable of successfully explaining procedures in writing and verbally.
• Will be on weekend/evening or call-in work occasionally required supporting 24x7 operations or maintenance activities.
This role offers the opportunity to travel to other sites and provides exposure to various technologies.
Basic Qualifications
• Strong System Engineering experience, defining, and documenting system requirements
• Active TS/SCI clearance with adjudicated CI polygraph
• Troubleshooting Systems/OS anomalies and failures
• 3+ years of experience with Windows Operating Systems
• 3+ years of experience with LINUX Systems
• Servers or similar virtualization platforms
• Troubleshooting skills across network and system layers
• Ability to rack and install servers, switches, and additional hardware. Ability to lift 50 lbs and ascend/descend 5 stairs.
• Sec + (or higher) certified
Desired skills
• 2+ years of experience with Juniper networking technologies (routing, switching, firewall platforms)
• 2+ years implementing network segmentation (VLANs), VPNs, and secure communication pathways
• 2+ years of experience configuring and managing network devices (routers, switches, firewalls)
• SPLUNK Experience
• Capable of representing the program in meetings to provide status of action items and issues
• Project Engineering / Execution experience
• Familiar with Software development techniques and implementation a plus
• Working knowledge of Data Centers
• Planning of system development activities
• Configuration management methods and practices
• Be detailed oriented and have strong written, oral and analytical skills
• Work independently or within a team environment
System Installations, upgrades, configurations, software installation, troubleshooting user interface and support, operations, and maintenance
Script writing/Comp Language - SHELL scripting, C#; HTML; SQL, PowerShell
Knowledge of various protocols such as DNS, SMTP, NFS, FTP, Telnet, SSH, etc.
Basic Database Manipulation/Modification
Be part of a team to review/refine/execute project activities including documentation
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work well with customers
National Pay Statement
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $85,500 - $150,765. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
Premium Pay Statement
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California, Massachusetts, and New York is $98,300 - $170,315. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
