The RoleThe Systems Engineer is responsible for translating customer and internally derived system requirements into an executable verification strategy that ensures product compliance throughout the development lifecycle. This role serves as the technical owner of requirements decomposition, allocation, and compliance and verification tracking. The Systems Engineer partners closely with Project Engineering, Design Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Test Engineering to support verification planning and execution efforts ensuring compliance with requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Analyze customer specifications, statements of work (SOWs), interface control documents (ICDs), standards, and other technical documentation to identify applicable system requirements.
- Decompose and allocate system-level requirements into lower-level engineering requirements while maintaining full requirements traceability.
- Derive engineering requirements to satisfy customer needs in the absence of customer specifications.
- Develop and maintain requirements databases using approved requirements management tools.
- Author system-level and lower-level requirements specifications to communicate requirements to the project team, customer, partners, and vendors for design, integration, component selection, and verification planning purposes.
- Create and own Verification & Validation (V&V) matrices that provide requirement traceability to compliance status, verification methods, acceptance criteria, and compliance.
- Lead cross-functional verification planning with Program Engineering, Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, Quality, and Test Engineering.
- Collaborate with technical design teams to achieve project objectives.
- Support expectations, preparations, and delivery for major gate reviews.
- Support the proper allocation, traceability, and verification of requirements at all levels through the lifecycle of the program.
- Interact with multiple subject matter experts to develop the necessary requirements allocation, analysis, and verification artifacts.
- Support derivation of requirements with internal and external customers.
- Support customer audits, technical interchange meetings, and design reviews related to requirements and compliance.
- Support the development of Analysis and Integration and Test (AI&T) plans to ensure AI&T activities produce evidence of requirements compliance.[ES1]

Qualifications & Experience- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or related degree.
- MSEE in related field desired but not required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.
- At least 3 years of relevant systems experience.
- Ability to obtain security clearance.
- Experience with antenna designs in harsh environments (aerospace, defense, military applications).
- Strong technical communication skills (written and oral).
- Experience developing requirements and verification documentation.
- Strong understanding of systems engineering principles and the systems development lifecycle.
- Strong fundamentals in "signals and systems" and digital communications.
- Familiar with hardware components and their associated impairments / limitations.
- Fast to learn new tools and workflows.
