Systems Engineer II Centennial, CO
Job Overview Aurex Defense is seeking a reliability engineer with a strong background in aerospace and spaceflight to support the NASA Artemis program. The candidate will perform and support the development of the Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and related analyses to support customer and contract requirements. Candidate must have the ability to prepare and deliver presentations for reliability review meetings, review specifications, technical documentation and design changes that will result in technical support documentation preparation.
Primary Responsibilities - Analyze and evaluate spacecraft subsystems such as avionics, propulsion systems, guidance navigation and control (GN&C), communications, mechanical, thermal control, and more.
- Conduct detailed Failure Modes, Effects, and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) on launch vehicles at the component and sub-component levels to ensure reliability and safety for human spaceflight.
- Support development of safety and mission assurance related analyses and associated products.
- Collaborate with engineering design teams and systems engineers to ensure compliance with customer requirements.
- Present results to Program Management as well as to related customers/clients.
Requirements: - BA or BS degree in Engineering or related discipline such as Aerospace Engineering, System Engineering with 5-10 years system reliability engineering experience.
- Proficiency in system reliability analysis methods incl. Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Probabilistic Risk Assessment (PRA) applied to aerospace vehicles.
- Experience and familiarity with Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), fishbone analysis, and hazard analysis
- Experience with launch vehicle and spacecraft design, development or operations with emphasis on reliability.
- Candidates should have the ability to interpret and analyze specifications and data.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with customers, suppliers and at all levels within the company.
- Self-motivated and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
Preferred Qualifications - Familiarity with NASA standards and processes.
- Experience working with human spaceflight systems and programs.
- Experience working with complex electrical and avionics systems.
How You Will Be Rewarded The salary range for this role is $119,000.00 - $136,000.00 per year.
