Responsibilities:

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
  • Plan, schedule, conduct and/or coordinate detailed phases of the engineering or scientific work in a project or perform work that involves conventional engineering or scientific practices.
  • Generate specifications or plans to support the development of acquisition documentation.
  • Support technical findings, opinions or recommendations.
  • Perform customer liaison, make presentations and attend customer meetings.
  • Prepare, update, maintain and submit Engineering plans (e.g., Systems Engineering Plan (SEP), Configuration Management Plan (CMP), Systems Test & Evaluation Strategy (ST&ES), Performance Measurement Plan (PMP), and Requirements Management Plan (RMP), Program Protection Plan (PPP), Programmatic Environment, Safety & Occupational Health Evaluation PESHE)) under the direction of the program's engineer(s).
  • Document, consolidate, and manage all baseline capabilities requirements as directed by the program's engineer(s) on a monthly basis.
  • Assist the program's engineer(s) to coordinate, execute, and participate in system engineering technical reviews and events (e.g., Systems Engineering Technical Reviews (SETR), Engineering IPTs and Engineering Review Boards (ERBs)) and provide recommendations and resolutions for engineering issues.
  • Identify risks through analysis of SES programs and update risk tracking tools.
  • Develop risk mitigation plans, assessments, and charts.
  • Assist the program's engineer(s) to conduct requirements analysis, configuration item analysis, and impact analysis, and provide analysis reports to support creation of Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) for Functional Review Board (FRB), ERB, Configuration Control Board (CCB), and SETR processes.
  • Prepare and update interoperability certification, testing, and waivers.
  • Perform requirements and traceability analyses and updates (e.g., Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM), System Design Specification (SDS), System Verification Documents (SVDs)).
  • Prepare and update Test and Evaluation (T&E) artifacts (e.g., test plans/cases, test procedures, charts) and determine criteria for test success.
  • Facilitate and support Engineering Technical Management meetings, IPTs, and Working IPTs (WIPTs) associated with RAM, CM, RM, ESOH, CAD.
  • Coordinate, execute, and participate in system engineering technical reviews and events (e.g., Systems Engineering Technical Reviews (SETR), Engineering IPTs and Engineering Review Boards (ERBs)) and provide recommendations and resolutions for engineering issues.
  • Maintain and control system documentation and update configuration data within the configuration management system.
  • Track and review configuration items in support of the Configuration Management process.
  • Support requirements analysis, configuration item analysis, and impact analysis, and provide analysis reports to support creation of Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) for Functional Review Board (FRB), ERB, Configuration Control Board (CCB), and SETR processes.
  • Interface with program office engineers and other technical professionals on a daily basis.

Education:
  • Excellent written/oral communication skills required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to perform detail-oriented work under strict deadlines
  • BS Degree in Engineering from a credited college/university.
  • 4-6 years of experience in System engineering in acquisitions
  • Defense Acquisition University courses, if applicable.
  • Active Secret clearance required to participate in classified program activities and maintain compliance with federal security protocols

Specific/Preferred Requirements:
  • Experience with life cycle sustainment planning and risk management frameworks
  • Experience working with tactical and combat vehicles in military or defense environments
  • Strong presentation skills for developing and delivering technical briefs to government stakeholders
