Full Job Description
A DAY IN THE LIFE:
As a Systems Engineer I, you will play an essential role in supporting systems engineering activities and solving technical challenges across complex aerospace systems. You will assist with system problem resolution, data analysis, requirements development, and performance evaluation as part of a cross-disciplinary engineering team. By applying foundational systems engineering processes, you will help translate customer needs into effective technical solutions while considering technical, schedule, and cost constraints.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
  • Communicates Effectively: Provide responsive, concise, and accurate updates on system status, technical issues, risks, and project activities to internal and external customers.
  • Contributes to System Design: Support the development of efficient system and subsystem designs by analyzing technical needs and providing recommendations to the engineering team.
  • Assists in Requirements Definition: Support the development, documentation, flow-down, verification, and traceability of system and subsystem requirements.
  • Supports Architecture Development: Participate in defining system architectures and analyzing technical challenges for advanced software-defined, multifunction mission systems.
  • Works in a Team Environment: Collaborate with software, firmware, electrical, mechanical, network, and other systems engineers to develop and implement effective technical solutions.
  • Develops Design Requirements: Assist in translating system-level requirements into detailed design requirements for hardware, software, firmware, and network implementations.
  • Supports Implementation and Troubleshooting: Assist with system implementation, integration, test, and troubleshooting activities, helping identify root causes and resolve technical issues.
  • Analyzes System Performance: Support data collection, analysis, and evaluation of system and subsystem performance to identify issues, trends, and opportunities for improvement.

  • Systems Engineering Processes: Working knowledge of foundational systems engineering principles, including requirements development, traceability, system integration, verification, and validation.
  • Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams across aerospace, electrical, mechanical, firmware, software, and network engineering disciplines.
  • Communication and Documentation: Ability to communicate technical information clearly and document requirements, analyses, designs, test results, and technical issues accurately.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field required.
  • 1+ year of systems engineering experience or relevant engineering experience with demonstrated exposure to systems engineering principles.
  • Foundational knowledge of systems engineering processes, including requirements development, requirements traceability, system integration, verification, and validation.
  • Cross-functional knowledge or exposure to aerospace, electrical, mechanical, firmware, software, and/or network engineering disciplines.
  • Experience or academic/project exposure to spacecraft design, development, integration, and test preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot technical issues using structured problem-solving and analytical methods.
  • Ability to analyze technical data and communicate findings effectively to engineering teams and customers.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, multidisciplinary engineering environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to document technical information clearly.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain any required security clearance.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
The starting base salary for this position ranges from $85,000 to $125,000 per year, depending on the candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to a competitive base salary, Innoflight offers a well-rounded compensation package that includes a Profit-Sharing Bonus and a Cash Performance Bonus to reward both individual and company performance.
