Systems Engineer (Hybrid)

We are seeking a Systems Engineer to deliver outstanding IT implementation and operations to our clients by installing, integrating, and supporting our high-assurance digital identity and access solutions and working to ensure that our products and services exceed our clients' expectations.
What will my responsibilities include as System Engineer at CertiPath?
- You'll work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment solving complex technical problems that span software and systems.
- Integrating the solution with Microsoft Active Directory, Certificate Authorities, Exchange, SQL Server, and Physical Access Control Systems (PACS)
- Supporting client acceptance testing and performing implementation assurance
- Leading or participating in client demonstrations, requirements gathering, prototyping sessions, and fit-gap analysis
- Documenting user needs, workflows, and recommended implementation approaches
- Troubleshooting deployed solutions using logs, database records, Windows events, and networking tools
- Providing best-practice guidance on leveraging out-of-the-box functionality to meet federal high-assurance security requirements
- Relaying customer feedback to the software development team
- Engaging with clients primarily in the Washington, D.C. area, with heavier on-site presence early for installs and deployments that later transitions to remote support via MS Teams; travel outside the D.C. area up to 10% as the company expands

- Reston, VA (HQ) - Hybrid: 3 days onsite per week
What qualifications do you look for?
- U.S. citizenship and an active Public Trust
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 6 years of total experience, including at least 4 years of engineering or operations experience managing and supporting applications in a Windows environment
- Experience performing on-site and virtual engagements with external customers
- Experience with PKI and federal smart card technology (smart card enablement, Windows smart card logon)
- Windows administration (IIS, Windows Server) and Microsoft Active Directory integration
- Experience supporting network, operating systems, database, applications, or data layers across multiple platforms and technologies
- Experience installing and configuring Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems, servers, and services (physically and cloud)
- Familiarity with SQL database usage
- A demonstrated willingness to learn new technologies and solve challenging problems
We're extra impressed by folks who have:
- An active government clearance
- 3+ years of information security experience
- Experience deploying or supporting applications on Kubernetes
- Hands-on experience with installing or operating PACS in a federal environment
- Fundamental understanding of OAuth2 and modern authentication/authorization flows
- PACS certification (Lenel OnGuard, Software House CCURE 9000, etc.)
- Experience using Unified Modeling Language to capture business processes
- IT Security certification (Security+, CISSP, CSEIP, CSCIP/G)
