Job DescriptionSystems Engineer, Hardware IntegrationJob DescriptionWe are seeking a Systems Engineer to support the development, integration, and testing of complex defense systems. This position has a strong hardware focus and will support system design, requirements development, hardware/software interfaces, integration, verification, and test activities.
The successful candidate will work across mechanical, electrical, software, and systems engineering disciplines to translate customer requirements into integrated system solutions.
Responsibilities- Perform technical planning, system integration, verification, and validation activities
- Support system design and requirements decomposition
- Perform hardware fault analysis and troubleshooting
- Support mechanical and electrical hardware design and interface definition
- Define and analyze hardware-to-software interfaces
- Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition
- Translate customer and system requirements into hardware and software specifications
- Support system integration and test activities
- Perform requirements development and management using DOORS
- Support Model-Based Systems Engineering activities using Cameo
- Work within an Agile engineering environment using Atlassian tools
- Support automated software requirements testing and analysis
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams throughout the system development lifecycle
Basic Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with 5+ years of related experience or Master's degree with 3+ years of related experience
- Experience with hardware systems, including hardware/software interfaces
- Experience with mechanical and/or electrical hardware design and interfaces
- Experience with hardware testing and fault analysis
- Experience with systems engineering processes, integration, verification, and validation
- Experience using DOORS
- Experience with Atlassian tools
- Familiarity with Agile development practices
- Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering and Cameo
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance
- Minimum Interim Secret clearance required to begin work
Preferred Qualifications- Previous experience supporting missile defense or other complex defense systems
- Experience with MIL-STD-810 and Environmental Qualification Testing
- Experience with Active Electronically Scanned Array systems
- Experience with electromagnetic interference requirements and MIL-STD-461
- Experience with electromagnetic environmental effects and MIL-STD-464
- Experience with High-Altitude Electromagnetic Pulse requirements
- Experience with MIL-STD-188-125
- Experience with Environmental Stress Screening and MIL-HDBK-344
- Demonstrated ability to work across engineering disciplines and lead technically challenging efforts
