Full Job Description
Purpose and Impact:

Amentum is seeking an Expert-level Systems Engineer with Program Management experience to support its federal client in Northern VA.

The ideal candidate will lead a team of engineers and testers with client AWS CLOUD modernization and integration efforts. The candidate will use their expert knowledge of SAFe agile methodologies and client software development lifecycle to ensure adherence to project plans, schedules, and security requirements for systems authorization and accreditation.

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-4pm

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Oversee team development of technical deliverables
  • Facilitate status meetings with team members and key stakeholders
  • Prepare weekly, monthly status reports, and presentations
  • Monitor project schedules, risks, and issues and manage accordingly
  • Cross-functional collaboration with Program Manager, Technical Lead and development teams
  • Periodically support business capture and proposal activities
  • Provide input and update technical roadmap as needed
  • Promote knowledge sharing and foster innovation within the team

Minimum Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):
  • Strong knowledge of AWS CLOUD modernization and integration functions
  • Bachelor's degree in business, Engineering, Technology, or a related field
  • 8-10+ years of experience in government contracting, business development, strategy consulting, or innovation roles, with direct exposure to federal procurement.
  • Proven track record of contributing to successful government contract wins, especially involving innovative or non-traditional acquisition methods.
  • Experience in high-priority sectors such as DoD or intelligence community is strongly preferred.


Required Skills & Competencies

  • Strong strategic thinking and ability to translate complex technical concepts into actionable government solutions.
  • Knowledge of government contracting processes, vehicles, and compliance.
  • Excellent analytical, research, and presentation skills (including proposal writing and executive briefings).
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders.
  • Adaptability in a fast-paced, regulated environment with a bias toward experimentation and learning from pilots.
  • Outstanding communication and relationship-building skills.


Security Clearance Required:
  • TS/SCI (Ability and willingness to take poly)


Minimum Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, Engineering, Technology, or a related field (Master's or MBA preferred).


Minimum Years of Experience:
  • 8-10 Years


Preferred Certifications:
  • AWS CLOUD Practitioner,
  • Certified Devops Engineer

Compensation Details:
$200,000 - $220,000
