Recently named by Newsweek as one of the Best American Mid-Sized Workplaces in 2026, Rohde & Schwarz is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to support and grow our Electronic Warfare (EW), Spectrum Monitoring, and ISR system business within the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF). This individual will serve as a technical leader supporting customer engagements from initial requirements through system deployment and sustainment. Working closely with customers, sales, product management, and engineering teams, the successful candidate will translate operational requirements into mission-ready solutions while demonstrating the value of Rohde & Schwarz technologies to government and defense stakeholders. Candidates should possess a strong understanding of EW, SIGINT, spectrum monitoring, and communications systems and be comfortable engaging directly with both operators and technical decision makers. Prior military or government experience within communications, EW, SIGINT, intelligence, or spectrum management organizations is highly desirable.

Your tasks

  • Serve as the technical lead for EW, Spectrum Monitoring, and ISR system opportunities throughout the customer engagement lifecycle.
  • Work directly with CAF and government customers to understand operational requirements and develop effective technical solutions.
  • Translate customer concepts of operation (CONOPS) and mission requirements into system architectures, technical proposals, and solution designs.
  • Conduct product demonstrations, technical workshops, proof-of-concept activities, and field evaluations.
  • Support system integration, testing, deployment, acceptance, and lifecycle sustainment activities.
  • Collaborate with sales teams to identify, qualify, and shape new business opportunities through technical engagement with customers.
  • Develop technical responses to RFIs, RFPs, proposals, and other customer requests.
  • Provide technical leadership during customer design reviews and project execution phases.
  • Support customer training, knowledge transfer, and post-deployment technical support activities.
  • Provide feedback from customers and operational users to product management and development organizations


Your qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience working with Electronic Warfare (EW), Signals Intelligence (SIGINT), Spectrum Monitoring, Communications Intelligence (COMINT), RF systems, or related defense technologies.
  • Experience designing, integrating, testing, or deploying complex mission systems.
  • Strong understanding of RF principles, spectrum operations, antenna systems, and signal processing concepts.
  • Familiarity with Canadian government, defense, intelligence, or critical infrastructure organizations and their operational environments.
  • Ability to translate customer requirements into technical solutions and system architectures.
  • Experience conducting customer-facing demonstrations, training, technical presentations, and requirements discussions.
  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 50%.
  • Must be a Canadian citizen or resident capable of obtaining the appropriate government security clearance.
