Configuration Management Engineer - Level 2

As the Advanced Development Programs (ADP) Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance/Unmanned Aircraft System (ISR/UAS) Systems Engineering (SE) Configuration Management (CM) Engineer you will be responsible for knowing how to implement and utilize disciplined technical management processes to establish and maintain the consistency of a product's functional, physical and performance attributes throughout its lifecycle. You are an emerging specialist in CM, prepared to think creatively and individually to solve complex problems. You actively seek out diverse sources of information, ensuring you have a comprehensive understanding of issues and impacts as it relates to CM.

Your responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
  • Develop, implement, and maintain configuration management processes and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and company policies
  • Manage and control product configurations, including hardware, software, and documentation, to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, manufacturing, and quality assurance, to ensure that configuration management considerations are integrated into program decisions and activities
  • Maintain configuration management plans, procedures, and documentation to support program requirements
  • Conduct configuration audits and assessments to identify and mitigate risks, and implement corrective actions as needed
  • Provide technical guidance and support to program teams on configuration management matters, including engineering change proposals, configuration control, and product data management
  • Participating in program meetings and reviews, including design reviews, test reviews, and production readiness reviews, to ensure that configuration management considerations are properly addressed


Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 2 years of professional experience; or 1 years of professional experience with a related Master's degree.
  • Comprehensive understanding of configuration management principles, practices, and industry standards, including the ability to apply this knowledge to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency of system configurations.
  • Demonstrated knowledge or experience, with a thorough understanding of the complete lifecycle, including engineering processes and reviews, to ensure effective configuration management.
  • Proficiency with engineering drawings, parts lists, Bills of Materials (BOMs), as well as drafting standards, to accurately document and manage system configurations.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance


Desired Skills

  • Experience with Product Lifecycle Management tools (e.g. Teamcenter)
  • Experience with managing dashboards and action lists in Jira
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability of solving complex problems which require ingenuity and innovation.
  • Experience in Software Configuration Management in an environment of rigorous hardware/software baseline configuration techniques.
  • Strong analytical and technical skills, with the ability to analyze complex problems and develop effective solutions
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience with reading, understanding and interpreting requirements on DoD Contracts
  • Experience working with CDRLs and SOWs and Sub-Contractor SDRLs and SOWs.


Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $79300.00 - $147300.00
