We are seeking a highly motivated System Engineer to join our team supporting Next-Generation Diagnostic Solutions. In this hands-on, onsite role—working 5 days per week at either our Pleasanton or Santa Clara site—you will support the development, testing, and integration of complex multidisciplinary systems, including both instrument and software components. This role is ideal for a systems-minded engineer who is passionate about diagnostic solutions, eager to translate complex scientific workflows into reliable solutions, and thrives in a highly collaborative environment.

The Opportunity
  • Perform hands-on, system-level integration testing and troubleshooting.

  • Plan, design, and execute feasibility and verification and validation (V&V) test cases to ensure comprehensive coverage of requirements and use scenarios.

  • Analyze test results for accuracy, validity, and relevance to user needs.

  • Support post-launch troubleshooting and field investigations through failure mode and root cause analyses.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional project teams on key topics such as requirements management, defect management, and system integration.

  • Contribute to system documentation, including requirements, specifications, integration plans, product risk management, and verification results.

  • Identify and lead opportunities for workflow simplification, automation, and continuous improvement.

Who you are

  • You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, or a related field.

  • 2 years of relevant industry experience is highly desired.

  • You are a fast learner who thrives at the interface of biology, instrumentation, and data, and you possess excellent written and verbal communication skills to influence cross-functional stakeholders.

  • You have strong workflow, system, and software troubleshooting skills, with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively to make an impact across diverse disciplines.

  • You are able to perform various laboratory techniques such as nucleic acid extraction, sample and library preparation, PCR, qPCR, digital PCR, and next-generation sequencing.

Preferred

  • You hold an advanced degree in a related field.

  • You have experience using automation for laboratory techniques.

  • You possess knowledge of bioinformatics.

  • You have scripting or programming experience, such as Python or equivalent.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Pleasanton, CA is 69 400,00 - 99 100,00 - 128 800,00 USD Annual.  Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.  A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance.  This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
