LOCATION: Full-time onsite in Herndon, VA
We are seeking an experienced Systems Engineer who possesses strong expertise in designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise storage and storage area network (SAN) environments. This role requires hands-on experience with Hitachi Storage, Cisco MDS SAN switches, Brocade and/or NetApp storage solutions, and VMware technologies in mission-critical environments.
Key Responsibilities and Experience neededIn this challenging yet rewarding role, you are an integral part of what brings our Company's mission to life. You must have the following required skills, certifications and demonstrated experience in and/or with:
- Working with Storage Area Networks (SAN) to include zoning and host groups
- Hitachi Storage
- Cisco switches
- Brocade and/or NetApp storage (EMC storage is translatable)
- VMWare.
- Monitoring, patching, and working with an ISSE to address
security concerns. - Hitachi HiCommand Software to include installation and
configuration - Hitachi Array Hardware maintenance
- Working as a Cisco Fiber Channel SAN Administrator
- Creating Cisco SAN fabrics and setting up/managing Cisco ISLs
- Cisco DCMN software and MDS9000 series hardware
- Being able to determine and identify dual active paths to and from all servers and storage arrays
- Working independently from a team.
Highly Desired QualificationsOther skills and demonstrated experiences that are highly desired but not mandatory to perform the work, include working with:
- Working with the Sponsor's IT equipment disposal procedures
- Working with systems' lifecycles
- Working with the Sponsor's multiple internal networks
- Understanding of the Sponsor's data center operations
- Working with Mission Partners to identify and troubleshoot
issues with physical IT infrastructure - Knowledge of the Sponsor's ticketing system for tracking changes and incident management.
